Went to my first ice hockey game, great fights,5 in the sin bin at one stage.
The Belfast giants beat the cardiff devils 7-4.
Bar the stoppages and breaks, thought it was a good night out.
    Anyone else go regularly.

I went once when I was wee. All the players and the ref ended up having a massive barney at the end. It was obviously staged but it was still a great laugh.

I know a few folk that go to see the Braehead Clan, might check them out sometime.

Hockey really is a grand old game. I try to get to a Leafs or Canucks game once a year depending on where I'm living. I'd like to see the game get bigger in Britain/Ireland like it is in Scandinavia/Germany/Switzerland/etc.

Here's a brilliant hockey video that was made during the 12/13 lockout. Tears me up.

I'd like to go to a game, but if I end up really enjoying it my local team would be in the other side of the city in Braehead, and would be at least 2 trains to get there, plus fitting in to see them around Celtic and Rennes would also be annoying

I * love it. Braehead Clan went top of the league tonight after beating Coventry away and Belfast lost to Cardiff, been a great season so far. My missus * loves it as well, much more entertainment and much better value for money than the football. Atmosphere is always great at Braehead as well.

You sitting in the posh seats? :56: I didn't even know it went up to £20. I pay £15 and that's for roughly three hours entertainment. £5 an hour isn't bad. Plus you can drink beer in the arena whilst watching the game so if its not that great a game you just get * and sing songs.

There's so much fan interaction as well and there's a clear connection between players and fans, like today after the Dons game, but every weekend. I could probably write an essay about why I love it so much :smiley-laughing002:

Usually at home every Saturday night, I've been to Celtic Park in the day then the hockey at night a couple of times, great days :icon_mrgreen: plus the occasional Friday, Sunday and Wednesday nights but its generally Saturday night.

braeheadclan.com is the web address and eliteleague.co.uk is the leagues website if people want any info on that as well. Also has the updated league table :icon_mrgreen:

The Swedish league (SHL) is a good league to follow. Awesome atmosphere at the games

Always wondered how big hockey is in Sweden. I imagine something like 60/40 in favour of football?

I think that football is a bit bigger but "we" have always been good at hockey. The SHL is probably the best league behind NHL and KHL.

How do you even get into it here and then develop as a player from here?
