Are any of our strikers good enough to get moved to the first team squad?

Seriously though, this would probably be the best time one of these lads could have a chance of getting a game for the first team. It could be a fantastic opportunity for them.

Now that all our transfers are done our first team squad looks light in numbers, are any of our current youngsters capable of stepping into our starting 11?Bare in mind most of our Development squad players are out on loan.

Now that Stevie Frail has left, hopefully we get someone with a proven track record of bringing through youngsters and not an ex player out of work.Any suggestions?

We can only bring them through if we give them games. This won't happen at our club unless they are truly exceptional because we will sign players to fill gaps.

It works for clubs like Dundee United out of necessity. I'm convinced that players like Irvine, McGregor, McGeoch et al would have been impressive first team regulars if they came through at another SPL team.

Agree 100% with this.I think for example we should play young Tierney every week at left back with our strongest team, only way a youngster will progress.Whenever a youngster gets a chance, its normally in a weakened first 11 or a cameo from the bench, rarely do they get a run of games in their best position in the first team. When Sevco were demoted we should have done this every season, play our best 10 players with best youngster every week,we would still win the league, thats 4 seasons now,we could have had 4 youngsters in the first 11 now.

    Spot on mate :50:

Don't know why this wasn't done i know there's pressure to win every game but we could probably cope with 2 youngsters playing in a strong team easily.
