The early Tomb Raider games were eerie as * when I was growing up, some of them probably still would be.

Resident Evil and Silent Hill too, creepy *.

Early Silent Hill games were good for suspense and building atmosphere.

Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill were * terrifying, especially playing at daft oclock with the lights out.

I liked The Room as well.

Yeah I'd go along with the majority in saying the Resident Evil games. I've not played a lot of the other games mentioned.

MGS and Tomb Raider were a bit jumpy when I played them as a kid.

The Last of Us could also be pretty tense when you're making your way through the clickers and runners in pitch black darkness.

For me the older Resident Evils and Silent Hills freaked me a bit. Used to play them later at night when kids and wife was in bed. Those were atmospheric games!

    Aaahhhhh.....the good old ps1!
