yeah the difference in scotlands 4231 and celtics is we at celtic are uber attacking as we are supposed to win most games, well domestically anyway, some might say we are setup too attacking and thats why we get over run in europe!

i think maybe but more importantly its the players that are picked arent working too well in the formation, i.e. commons maybe mulgrew lack of speed of movement and we're not enough of a threat attacking as a result which would stop us from being swamped

but game by game you'd think if you were being over run the manager would set yous up to be a bit more cautious

scotland is always gonna be up against it so suits a defensive first application of the formation, well and maybe the players are used to it due to not enough technical ability when you come up against better technical skills, control of the ball e.t.c.

we'd go fooking crazy if a manager set us up to play that conservatively against domestic sides, however maybe the answer lies in us being a little more defensive in our setup for the european games
but i kinda want the manager to be successful in getting a technical celtic side out there with speed of movement and actually compete well in the european teams i'd like to see us beating anderlechts, psv's, benfica's in a more consistent manner like we arent always punching above our weight

Ok Good result last night poor performance.

We played a 433 and again i am seeing that we seem to always have a hole in midfield.

Broonie played all of the game on right midfield at center line.
Stefan moved up to play attacking midfielder.
Mulgrew was meant to play the holding midfielder role but played more or less behind Broonie as a defending midfielder on the right handside.
Izzy played left wingback but stayed up in the final third most of the game.

The problem to me anyway is whoever is playing left midfield is having * of alot to do in games .

Some early season games Stefan was playing there and he looked terrible.

Mulgrew was meant to play there last night and again looked terrible.yet in the Scotland games was fantastic.

Izzy going forward with stokes just of him are a fantastic combination but i think its costing us in games with nothing on that side when we get hit on the counter.

Opposition teams know this and game after game they play the same way against us.

Now i am not sure how this gets fixed because i think we are still short of one or two players to play Ronnys way but in the short term Izzy has to sit back and defend more no?

    Interested in your thoughts ?

Stick Mathews in at leftback move Izzy forward and means Stokes could float about,it might work.

Aye definitely. Recognises who our two poorer players were, and subbed them. His decision to leave Scepovic on was also justified.

    Deila officially considering a 4-4-2!

“I think they [Guidetti and Scepovic] can play together. We just have to get the right team around them,” he said. “It’s going to be interesting and something we’re going to have to try out at the right time. We’ll see about that on Sunday maybe, or whenever it might be.

“I think they can suit each other. They are both intelligent players, and intelligent players can play together. I would think of playing them in a 4-4-2. It’s all about principles for me, not about systems. We have to play the system that suits the players and if doing that could make us better, it’s no problem. Consistency is important.”

Make it happen Ronny! We could do some damage with 2 upfront.

Personally, I think that a flat 442 is boring. Can't imagine why people want to see us play it.

His tactics have been spot on the last couple of games.

We are dismantling teams and forcing them to make stupid mistakes.

    Nice one Ron :60:

Definitely improving and getting to know his team a but better now. Still can't understand why Kayal doesn't get a game. Anytime he has played this season, he has been outstanding. Want to see more of him. Would love to see this
