So we get a result in Amsterdam and win 6-0 today and people want him sacked?

Naturally. He's good but he's no McInnes... certainly no Warburton.

Not as simple as that. Og1 is saying if Deila drops any more league points and Aberdeen say go to a seven or eight point lead over us then, then he should be sacked.

What is wrong with that supposition in your eyes ?

This isn't reasonable, mate. When it comes to a small sample like 5 games, luck plays such an important part that demanding 5 victories in the next 5 games just isn't reasonable. If that were so, we'd win a lot more cups! It is true that in a 38 game league season, the luck usually (even then not always) evens out, so I fully expect us to win the league and Deila would rightly be sacked if it looked like he might lose it.

Why should it? 6 wins and a draw from 8 games is an OK start to the league campaign, we've had worse before and give on to win the league against stronger opposition than this Aberdeen side. If we keep that standard up all season and don't improve at all, we will finish on 90 points, which will comfortably win the league. Obviously I fully expect to see improvement, though.

There are consequences. Ronny's not going to lose the league, but if he did, he'd be sacked. He'll also be lucky to keep the job if he fails to qualify for the CL for a 3rd year in a row next summer. Expecting him to be sacked merely because Aberdeen have started the season with a freak 8 wins from 8 is panicking IMO.

Anyone that thinks Aberdeen will be within 14 points of us by the end of the year is getting carried away big time.

Aberdeen had the same good start last year and stayed at the top for the best part of the year, and they have built on last year's success for just a provincial club. It is churlish not to give McInness fair credit for what he has achieved on a shoe string budget at Pittodrie.

Aberdeen dropped 39 (thirty-nine) points last season (34.2% of the total number of points available to them, as I've said). Is that remarkable and creditable for a provincial club? Absolutely.

Does that - and a sample of eight games of thirty-eight this season - indicate that Celtic (that's our club, by the way - supposedly) is in grave danger of losing the league title to them, given the fact that we dropped 22 points (19.3% of the total number of points available to us) last season and still finished 17 points ahead of them? Absolutely * not.

Aberdeen actually lost 3 of their first 5 last season.

    There's still hope for us.
