Stokes is finished at Celtic whatever hes done or not doing must be pretty bad if hes not even getting the odd sub appearance.

:56: Fair play to you, mate.

Listen I don't think Ronny is the best manager within our reach (financially), and I stated several times last season that I didn't buy into the messiah-like hype he was getting.

But, all things considered, he is probably the right guy for us. His ethos is geared towards getting young players into the side as quickly as possible and helping them develop and progress. I like the fact he seems to be buying Scottish players as a priority, but I'm not sure whether that is down to him or the board.
We need someone with a long-term approach to management, and he does seem to be giving us that. This Europa League campaign might just be a big one for him, though. In Lennon's second season, that competition was huge for the development and the confidence of the team - and look what happened the following year.

Yeah good post. It really is in our best interests for this to work in all honesty. There is massive questions about his tactical ability but Thursday was brilliant for him. There is nothing negative about getting a result. Anyone would rather grind a point rather than leaving yourself exposed and eventually losing. Still loads of room for improvement though. In a week I have went from wanting him out to being back to watching him like a hawk. I am also pleased that Commons is back.

Buying Scottish players as a priority probably has something to do with the rules of needing home grown players in European competition.

I don't particularly like it. Scotland's not been good enough for 20 odd years.

You people are too hard on your country. it's like in the Lennoxtown thread where some one said one of the reasons Celtic hasnt produced more players is that "we're Scottish" :smiley-laughing002: That attitude will take you nowhere

Improve the coaching and Scotland will produce more top players, no problem.
