I think we can now say with a certain degree of confidence that this is really the beginning of the end of the UK. The Union is over.

    * it, not much difference between Labour and the Tories anyway. We've voted ourselves into a strong position up here, it's a good outcome for Scotland.

Unless you live in England, yer * lol.

I reckon if Sturgeon was the Leader of the SNP a year earlier the fact the No campaign scared pensioners would have been immaterial. Can't help but feel Salmond ended up being too polarising a figure.

If, as it looks like just now, Scotland has voted how it wanted which caused England to vote in a certain way in order to stop Scottish MP's having a greater influence than they would want then the Union is done.

All of this was well known before this Election though, no matter how many times they told us to 'lead' the UK not 'leave' it is brutally apparent now that those are empty words. They don't want Scotland leading anything, they want our resources and for us to shut up and do what we are told thereafter.

That's a 5% swing but probably actually more as under 18's couldn't vote and majority of them voted yes. We're heading for another referendum.

Aye, I never liked Salmond. Respected the guy as a politician and I've warmed up to him now tbh but even during the Referendum I didn't like him.

Sturgeon is completely different in that regard.
