Matthews basically allowed us to play a 5-4-2 for large portions of the match. His ability to be beyond a wingback, and play fullback and winger at the same time, was ridiculous.

We'll never know and that sort of speculation isn't really going to do us any good.

Van Dijk and Ambrose were solid, look to be a good partnership

People who are saying we weren't unlucky must not have watched the match. We were unlucky that two of our best chances fell to Mulgrew and Brown, if stokes or samaras or commons were in that position they might've scored. We're unlucky that their first goal was a crazy deflection of a shot that was going wide. We were unlucky Samaras' shot from distant just went past the post. We were unlucky that stokes hit the bar from a freekick.

We had chances to score tonight, we could have had 2 or 3 but luck wasn't on our side. Simple as. 0-0 would have been a fair result but you couldn't have begrudged us a 1 or 2 nil win given the way we pressed them. I swear some people on here will do anything but defend Celtic. They played fantastically tonight and did not deserve to lose in the slightest.

I'm on to pick a fight?

I'm on all the time son, you are the only one who shows up when there is drama and a bit of aggro to be had.

Pretty much agree with all of this. We did what we could but it wasn't enough. If anything was going on it was when Matthews was on the field and Valter Birsa was wandering around in the woods giving us almost a two man advantage. We didn't. Milan, it has to be said, controlled the last 10-15 minutes and scored in the little time that they dominated possession.

I have to agree with that.

That killer instinct in the box was missing tonight.

Everyone got pass marks tonight. Final ball could have been better at times and the lack of someone to actually attack a cross when it is played in was frustrating as well, but overall thought we were much the better team.

No too sure about Hooper, he never done much in terms of goalscoring away in Europe (Spartak aside)

I think the whole right hand side played well, maybe better last ball/crossing from Lustig & Matthews might have made a difference, Milan seemed to win every header tonight.

If Balotelli hit it either side of Forster after 4 min or if Muntari scored that header.....

All hypotheticals. No point dwelling on that. Hooper's time has been and gone. We have Pukki.

We'll have a good chance of beating Barca B at the Camp Nou. If it hasn't gotten away from us by then we'll have a good chance of getting through.

We are a good side, remember Pukki, Boerriggter and Biton not had much of a chance yet. The defence is pretty sound. We will challenge in this group 2nd or 3rd is very very do-able. Gutted, very unlucky tonight. Proud of the team.

Agreed. He wouldn't have offered anything away from the penalty area, where we never had a solid chance. He would have been fairly ineffective.

Milan won every header because of their defenders. It's not as if our crossing becomes * when we play good opposition and magically becomes better when we play Hearts.
