    I nitpick?

I'm not the one that's trying to see something negative in one of our players signing a contract until 2020 :56:

Ok fair enough man. I said I'm happy and I am. Just stating that it doesn't stop him signing for another team next season. Not trying to be a killjoy Paul :50:

I've seen his quote above now and that's very encouraging so that's nice to see/hear. I just have a cynical view of the modern day footballer, however much I love the big guy.

Great to see him signing such a long contract. He's one of those players I love to watch play football. :50:

As good as Wanyama was, it wasn't as entertaining to passively watch him play football. We really need a couple of passers in the team like Bitton. It was great watching him and Virgil link up to play the ball out of defence, I wish we could get more guys like that.

If he keeps going the way he's going I doubt we'll see him stay for the five years. No doubt as part of this discussion there would've been an agreement that after another 2 years or so if a big offer comes in he'll be allowed to leave. I would say that's fair though tbh, even if it is a shame. :50:

Good sound bites from the big yin. Also cool as a cucumber on the pitch. That will do for me!

Great show of commitment from him there. Also means that we'd get a better transfer fee for him if/when he leaves.

It means he can't leave without us getting money mate. If he didn't sign the contract he could leave for nothing. :50:

:smiley-laughing002: brilliant, mate. He has quickly established himself as a key player in the midfield, he's already got natural skill/talent and he's getting better and adding to that ability all the time. He clearly loves the club too. :shamrock:

Glad me getting Bitton 6 on my new top was worth it!

I'd assume a contract extension of that length would have a buyout clauee of some manner or form. Still, no harm, I'm sure the club will have set it high enough to ensure we're not left high and dry.

Great to see this go through though, enough with the negativity. Good lad, good player, nice statement about the club and everyone's intentions. Love it!

Sorting out your shirt side of things was the main priority here. Glad that worked out for you mate!:50:

He spoke to the media today about his new Deal

NB: I’m very happy to sign for this amazing club. I have been here for two years and I enjoy every second.

NB: When you play for a club like Celtic you don’t think twice when they offer you a new contract.

NB: I want more and more success, trophies, to control the Scottish league, to go further in Europe and the Champions League.

NB: I want to be part of the @ChampionsLeague every year. This is the best stage every player wants to play at.

NB: I just want to enjoy and make the fans proud and everyone in the club proud.

NB: The most important and main reason I signed for Celtic is the club, Celtic.

NB: When you play every weekend in front of 40,000 or 50,000 fans there’s nothing better than that.

NB: I’m happy, starting my third year here and if I’m happy, why would I change.

I think he dropped a hint at the main thing which might make him change his mind, "I want to be part of Champions League football every year".

I'm hoping he'll help get us there for the next few years.
