It is always extremely difficult to express the feelings that Oscar's story, and the stories of others like him, brings to the soul. Confusion at why it is happening, and sadness that it is happening seem to dominate. My faith tells me that everything in life has a purpose and that * permits suffering for a greater good in this life, a good that more often than not remains a mystery to us, and an ultimate good in the next which has been revealed to us.

My faith also tells me that our Father in heaven knows this pain, as He Himself has saw His Only Begotten Son suffer greatly on this earth, and that He is with Oscar's parents and with Oscar too. That the Son, our divine Saviour, Whose Sacred Heart has been pierced by a lance of grief and love, walks ever among those who cry out on the earth. There is also a Mother, the sweetest of all mothers, the Queen of Heaven, that has suffered as we suffer, that has saw the ignominy of Calvary, and whose heart swells with tender compassion for all those in their agonies.

But even through the heartache, the confusion and the sorrow, there is a beauty at play in this drama. The beauty of a father's strength, the beauty of a mother's love, the beauty of a sister's pride, the beauty of a human soul that struggles and stands firm against everything that the world throws against him. In a day an age where the family has been so tossed and blown, when it seems to have lost all meaning in society, to see here a family that has came together in this time of hardship, and that love and joy and laughter shine through the tears that surely are there, is truly a beautiful thing, in my small opinion.

May * bless Oscar and his family, and Our Blessed Lady ever be besides them during their trials! Saint Oscar, pray for him! :shamrock:
