    Doesn't look too good if he's not even making the bench for games like this. Will be sad if this is the end for him, but we do have good options in the forward areas now.

    Seen him out last night, guessed he wouldn't be playing today then. Think his social habits must have something to do with him not getting game time, he is in the pub all the time.

    It's funny to see how other people's perception of our players can be so totally warped and wrong. I was talking to an Aberdeen fan on Friday night and we got round to talking about Stokes. He was saying Stokes was a liability off the park. I asked him what he meant and he replied "singing racist songs and falling out with team mates". I told him Stokes has never been caught singing racist songs and to give me some proof otherwise. He quickly backtracked and changed his argument to "ok he sings sectarian songs". Still wrong. Funnily enough he couldn't come up with any examples of players Stokes has publicly fallen out with either.

    I can only assume his opinion was based upon it being in the papers when Stokesy went to that memorial party in Dublin. It's pathetic really.

    It's just a typically invalid reason to hate him, rather than the real reason. Similar to the reasons given for hating Neil Lennon, like, "He's a dirty player" etc. Neil Lennon wasn't a dirty player, he was just an Irish Catholic, admit it instead of hiding behind invalid reasons to hate him/them.

    Well we're doing okay at the moment and Stokes is nowhere to be seen.

    Don't get me wrong, we still need a striker. But Stokes isn't the man.

    Did you not say that we are stale and boring up front, in the match thread?

    Pretty much what you've said all season so far.

    Why wouldn't Stokes offer a change to that?

    If the people brought in to replace him aren't getting it done then surely he is the better option?

    The season has only just started and we haven't really come up against anything yet. Stokes is a proven goalscorer and goal maker, and a good Celtic man through and through. It will be hard to replace those qualities, and I am still mystified by Stokes's exclusion from the squad.

    I think the Celtic support deserve an upfront explanation from Deila on why Stokes is excluded from the Celtic squad.

    We've navigated two qualifiers without him. Our best European performances last season, against Inter, were without him as well if I remember correctly.

    Deila has already explained that. He said Stokes needs to improve to get back in the team.
