Are you suggesting that the Club has to bank all the Wanayama fee and any money made from the Champions League to avoid bankruptcy?

It's called 'satire' folks, or a 'hyperbolic' (extreme exaggeration, typically used to reduce a position to the point of absurdity) statement.

    The post poked fun at:

TalkCeltic, in general (echoing popular refrains)
    Financial wizards here
    Emotional posts
The irrational fear of following in zombie fc footsteps
    The Board's conservative spending policy

Know things can be lost in translation, but the forum is probably 75% literal. Beware of sarcasm.

I just want him to leave now tbh. If we can get 5mil for him then I would like us to spend the whole 5mil on a new striker. Qualify for the champs league sign an up and coming left sided attacking mid for pennies and keep the rest of the dough for a rainy day and to balance the books.

spend serious money when we cant sell season tickets?

you have got to be joking

as a result of too many tims missing sevco along with a plethora of excuses for not turning up at parkhead the days of big money blue chip signings are long gone and glad of that as most didnt live up to the billing

Can't see us spending more than a few million, which I'm fine with. Player contract extensions should be prioritized first, then focus on bringing in some fresh legs.

Spending money on good players will generate interest and sell season tickets.

This will only be a talking point if we DON'T make the Champions League. We didn't spend much on Wanyama, so it's not about how much is spent but the quality and potential we bring in!

I hope I'm wrong but Rogic doesn't look a player to me so we'll need another quality midfielder in for sure.

Rogic will be quality. Great technical ability, and unlike many, his first instinct is to drive the team on. Poised enough to play through middle, rare for us.

It's not about what is spent. It's about who comes in.

    The money is irrelevant.

I know it's worked, but it's really is kinda sad reading all these comments about how a club as big as Celtic F.C. needs to be so nickle-and-dime with just a wee bit of money (in football terms).

60,000 seat European nights against the likes of Benfica, Barça ... and we're talking about a few million euros/pounds?

    *sigh*

It's been that way for most of our existence.

It's not a surprise to most people...

We support Celtic for Celtic, not by what we can afford to buy.

No, it's not, but it's been further magnified over the course of the last few years, don't you think?

Eh ... what does that mean? An awful lot encompasses my overall support for Celtic.

    That's fine, I understand that.

Believe me I've come to accept that these days.

personally I think behind close doors there is a wee transfer storm brewing between Lennon, Park and Lawwell but in a good way of course.

with the Wanyama money and Hooper money which if reports are true could be around the £17million mark on top of the CL money which is usually understood to be around £20million, I see no reason why most of it won't be invested back into the team.

It's if, buts and speculate to accumulate but since McGeady's £9.5 mill move this is what it has allowed us to achieve with the selling of Wanyama and Hooper. I think once Hooper is confirmed and we get the wee boost we will have a fantastic transfer window which also no doubt be filled with silly season stuff the likes we have never seen before.

You have to look at it like this, we got a * load of money from the champions league and the games. New multi million pound deal with Magners, New strips come out loads off the wage bill, season ticket sales 12.5 million or 10.5 million after other clubs paid and if Hooper goes then its gonna be about 3 million after sell on fees or around about that.

I would like to think that Lennon could spend 8-12 million pound on the side.

A left back to challenge Izzy, a replacement for Vic two wide players with pace a creative center mid and a replacement for Hooper. Is it going to happen? Nah not a chance.

Can see Lennon getting around 4 million max to spend. But I only hope we get what i said above.
