This is something I always wondered, say someone gets an organ transplant and it is successful then a couple of years later they die from say something like a car crash, can that pre-donated organ I suppose be re-donated?

I believe it is the duty of the citizen to do their upmost to support and ensure the progression of the State.

I believe organs for the good of advancement should belong to the State once you have deceased.

A somewhat surprising stance for someone who is normally so anti-state and pro-individual to take.

    a very brave decision.
when my boy passed away aged 10 days, i was asked the same and said no, I felt (in my mind) that he had suffered enough.

My view would apply to a State I support not one that is based on private economic interests :50:

It wouldn't work in Britain or many countries for that matter - In the case of Britain I am against it being compulsory. It's too dangerous.

I find it disturbing that anybody would deprive their fellow humans of the prospect of live-saving/life-enhancing medical interventions on the grounds of superstition or the misplaced belief that their body will become anything other than worm food after they cease to be alive.

Your organs are of absolutely no use to you after you die and allowing them to be used to save lives is as close as we are going to get to any sort of reincarnation or afterlife. The thought of being able to help others after my organs cease to be of use is actually of great comfort to me.

Out of interest, would you accept a life-saving organ which had been acquired via this ghoulish practice for yourself or a family member?

Having just read through this. This is the post I would go with. It is not something I feel particularly strongly about so I am not too concerned with it is an opt in or an opt out system but I agree people should be asked. Although they should of course be free to change their mind.

Took me about 2 minutes to get my name on the list, it wasn't what anyone could consider a great effort.

If you are not in the list then you should be further down the queue than people who are.

People who are against certain medical practices will happily change their mind if their life is on the line.

Take that * who's head of PETA for example: Her and her minions are anti-animal testing. Her minions have wrecked labs and attacked staff on countless occasions. Her from PETA is diabetic and takes insulin. She conveniently forgets that if is wasn't for testing on dogs treatments for diabetes would never have been possible.

    * excellent point mate!! This is in regards to PETA, a celebrity over run organisation. Is she definitely in receivership of insulin? Its the way I treat anti-zionist Starbucks drinkers, mc Donald eaters, M&S shoppers, caterpillar gear wearing or using. * off you poser *, basic and simple a cause is defeated through the dilute elements within itself so I believe!

Slight error, it's actually PETA vice-president Mary Sweetland who is the hypocritical * who opposes animal testing but will still use products made by animal testing to prolong her life of double standards.

Forgetting that, PETA are a excellent organisation who highlight the plight of animals worldwide.
Without them there * knows what horrible things would be hidden away.

    * forgetting that their higherups are hypocritical *. They are 2 faced * only in it for the money. If their vice president was really true to her beliefs she wouldn't use any animal tested products but it's a different story when her life is on the line.

Food industry animals get treated like * every day, doesn't stop anyone eating meat and people will still eat the Colonel's filthy battery farmed chicken.
