I used to read constantly. Even as a young gun I would take books and stuff to family meals and just sit there no bother at all and read (as opposed to the pains in the arses you see running about restaurants annoying everyone).

The last four years - since I've been at Uni - I've noticed that I don't read all that much recreationally any more. In the summer maybe, but not otherwise. Miss just delving right into a book and not wanting to put it down.

I think the last book I read recreationally was Che Guevara's Reminiscences of the Cuban Revolutionary War; that was last summer.

I havent ever read a book outside of school and even at school I only ever read when it was as a class. Last book I read was a shakespeare play book macbeth at school 7 years ago that we done as a class for an exam I think before then it was probably primary school as I cant mind anything else.

Even now when I want to read a book and go and get it, as soon as I open it I just think its going to be boring or a waste of time and can never start it and end up doing other stuff. Keep putting it off and never start.

How do you get in the mood to read a book?

I was like that for a year or so but got back into reading again. Read 4 or 5 books in the last fortnight

I only ever read while I'm in the car or on the train it makes the books last longer, I cant stand when I forget a book on a journey I cant hack sitting/standing there staring at the seat/heavy breather in front of me.

Love reading, currently on Bobby Sands Writings from Prison. Even if I'm not reading a book I will constantly be reading blogs and articles online. Seems that you are either mad for reading a lot or not too fussed, doesn't seem to be much of a middle ground.

I find that quite difficult, as it's hard to signal and turn the page at the same time.

I do love to read though. I like all sorts from fiction, to history, politics and auto-biographies. Anything that takes my fancy at the time.

:50: thought there would be someone else, thats the way I am too.

Always remember back when we had to do a book thing for something in school may have been a prelim or exam and I was actually attempting to read the book and must have been 40 pages in and the teacher came over and said hows it going so far or along those lines and when I went to say I realised I didnt have a clue, I was reading and not taking a thing in. Remember trying to explain how I hadnt got a clue what was happening. Maybe what started me never reading.

I ended up never reading that book and instead done my essay about it off copying ones I read on the internet.

The very process of reading is exercise for your brain and can result in an enormous sense of well-being if you see something through and learn from it. It doesn't need to be Shakespeare, just whatever interests you - everyone's got interests and curiosities.

I can only read an autobiography, find them much more interesting than a fiction. When I was younger, about 10/11 I used to read all the time, read all of the Harry potters, in fact the last fiction book I read outside of school was the last of the Harry potter's that was about 7 years ago. (I'm 19 now). Dunno why I suddenly stopped reading. I do enjoy an autobiography though

I love reading. Like Sean 67 I haven't been able to read as much recreationally over the past few years. The thing I'm genuinely looking forward to doing most after my exams is sitting in the garden drinking a coffee and reading a book. I'm sick of reading for uni, it's horrible.
