How would it ruin bond if he was black? When you think of bond you think of funny, cocky resourceful secret agent, not white guy. Pick whatever actor is best, skin colour is irrelevant.

It wouldn't ruin it at all but it just defies logic.

I'm afraid that statement is also racist now.

Mr t is mainly defined by his hair and his accent which a white person wouldn't be able to pull of in my opinion. I don't see how a black person couldn't be able to give a convincing performance as a secret agent?

Where did i say a black guy couldnt? :97: idris elba is a fine actor, but james bond is white, simple as that. Would it be racist if someone did suggest a white guy played mr T?

Aye James Bond should be white, would just look stupid if he wasnt.

Would be like if Tony Montana in Scarface was white fat with ginger hair just wouldnt be right.

It wouldn't be racist to suggest a white mr t just a bit daft in my opinion, I think bond is a different case, I'm not saying you are racist for wanting bond to be white just in my opinion it's completely irrelevant to bond as a character, it's like M being a man or woman, makes no difference to me.

Cristian Bale I always thought would make a good Bond, but because he owned Batman I don't think it would be a good idea.

    Perhaps Tom Hardy Of Fassbender?

Call me thick but I dont think Hardy or Fassbender would go for it, I'm thinking they like that they can perform many forms of character and would probably resent playing a "generic" bond role.

I watched a series not too long ago called the fixer and your man in it Andrew Buchan was brilliant in it, a bit more cold and heartless than the regular Bond but the series is kind of shifting that way.

    Bump!

Recently Anthony Horowitz (an author who I really like) said he thinks Idris Elba is "too street" to play Bond. He's been getting slagged for saying it but I can see where he's coming from.

Anyway, the bookies favourite is now Tom Hardy, who would be my first choice to play him. Two other actors I'd love to see get it are Michael Fassbender and Richard Armitage.

Ive only seen the guy in they Virgin Media adverts but I think the guy's right when he says he's too "street". He's a bit too cockney sounding, Less James Bond and more like Del Boy. :smiley-laughing002:
