Johnstone's Paint Trophy, bit like the Scottish Challenge Cup for lower league teams.

Think they call it something else now.

Why is he unhappy about not being able to move to QPR? That miserable lot were doomed to relegation from day 1. Championship or Champions League, Victor?

Cardiff could well be the same. Southampton are less likely to get relegated, but taking it all into consideration it's still - at most - a sideways move.

The grass isn't always greener. Ask Liam Miller.

I'm not too sure that is the case with Hooper. He certainly didn't look like a player that wanted away at the end of last season. Normally you can tell, i.e not celebrating goals with the team, and generally just looking unhappy. I didn't get that impression from him. It would be interesting to know what offer was put on the table to him. I doubt he was being offered the same as Ledley or Samaras, because that would mean more than doubling his wages, and I don't think we will have offered that. Just my opinon though. Brown will be the top earner, and that is fair enough, especially with him being the captain, but Hooper is worth 25k p/w. And I have a feeling that isn't the offer put on the table for him.

Personally, I'd offer Wanyama double what he turned down before with the proviso that he sack his agent. :icon_mrgreen:

No one knows what the players earn and what they turned down.
Ledley is a guy who wants to stay.......talks about staying and says plans are in hand as do others.
Hooper and wanyama cant wait to get out the door and onto epl riches.
When hooper was asked about staying after cup final he couldnt avoid the question quick enough.
Only reason hooper will stay is to run down his contract,if he is here after next summer ill be very very surprised.
Saying your happy at celtic is not thet same as wanting to be here, after all only a fool would say they were unhappy and then have to face the fans for your last season.

It's very impressive. Them being crap in the CL doesn't make them a bad team. They're better than a few of the the teams that made the last 16.

Aye because if he goes to Southampton he'll stay there his whole career. If he goes it will be to prove himself to the bigger English teams that he's worth the money and can do it on a regular basis.

It's common knowledge that Brown is on roughly 30k p/w and Ledley & Samaras are roughly 25k p/w. If Hooper is being offered less than 25k p/w, then I don't blame him for not wanting to stay, if that is the case. If he has been offered that, and has turned it down, then more fool him for wanting away. But I don't think it's in Celtic's make up, with the way in which we currently do our business to have offered him more near enough double what he is on at present. That is a fair judgement of his current wage I would say, because he won't be on a fortune, espevially having signed from Scunthorpe where he would have been on buttons.

    Samaras isn't, he's on about £15k.

I would be surprised if he was only on that, he has signed two deals here I think. And I would have thought his first deal would have seen him on at least 15k p/w. Because Man City paid £6million for him so he must have been on a good wage at them, so to drop to below 15k p/w I would be surprised. I would imagine the second deal he got would have been an improved contract.
