Bit of a relief he's ok. He must have just strained it, that can actually be more painful than you'd think, it's happened to me once or twice where I've strained my hamstring but been alright to play within a week or two.

Only worry with me is if he's involved in any 50/50's or tries to sprint forward, he's going to inevitably be nervous about his hamstring going again, and it will affect his performance.

    Better than playing Efe.

I think Lustig would risk injuring himself if it came down to it anyway.

The manager would never put a game of football before Lustig's health though, and personally I would never advocate it either.

Too * right Ronny should. Club comes first here and pay the wages. If Lustig has to play 70 mins to get us through and pull up injured that is a chance we all have to take. This game is made for Lustig. If Efe starts at right back and we are in serious trouble.

Deila has already stated, more than once and most recently for Armstrong at Thistle, if you're not 100% you're not playing.

    Wut?

Without trying to cause offence, If you think a game of football comes before a person's health, then you've got some growing up to do.

Champions league football for the club and all the fans for a pulled hamstring on 1 player? I would take one for the team myself if I played. I would want my players to do the same. In a league game I wouldn't take the chance but this is possibly our biggest game of the season or possibly the next 3-4 seasons. If there is any chance Lustig can start he starts for me. He must after looking at his possible replacement. If he is 60% fit then obviously no but if he is declared fit with a few question marks we have to take that chance.

As long as it doesn't mean Ambrose coming in at RB I am fine with leaving him out.

Otherwise we are signing our own death warrant.

    Mental.

Pulls his hamstring then he's more or less out for wntire CL campaign if we got into the group stages, or he trusts his squad.

I can see your point but would you rather we have a fit Lustig and no Champions league football? Or a crocked Lustig and at least make the group stages?

There was a poll among olympic athletes a good few years back. One of the questions were along the lines of; if it would guaruantee a gold medal in the olympics, would you contract a fatal disease? More than half answered yes.

I'm not sure a CL qualifier is comparable to an olympic gold, but never underestimate athletes and their will to sacrifice themselves for a win.

Personally, I'd like to see a 99% player rested tho, no need to be * with a human beings health.
