IMO theres no better time to take a wee gamble on player like this, we should still win the spl for the next few seasons meaning we should be playing in europe. On the positive side he signs he scores loads of goals and we could still sell on if we needed to. Could be a great partnership with Hooper which will gets the fans excited and increase turnout and revenue. Great finish tonight.

I wouldn't get carried away with the guy, it's the same hype that is driving his fee.
Not that he isn't a good player with the potential to be better but he is not a world beater, not yet anyway. Although his goal scoring prowess is without question.

That being said, should we navigate ourselves past Helsingborgs and should Ki be sold for the figures being banded about then I wouldn't see any great problem in sticking in a 4 or 4.5 million bid plus Murphy leaving us with money to sort out a centre half and banking the rest.

Why wait to sign this boy ? he is definetly an investment that would do brilliant on the pitch and would make the club a fortune if he had to be sold on.
It's a win win situation in my eyes.

His judgment and movement in the box is superb, this is a must! If we have the chance we have to get him simple, his stock will still rise through playing bin Europe and international. Him and an experienced solid cb and we have the makings of a great young team! Hail hail and well done scotland:) superb result

I just cannot justify bringing in a player like jordan rhodes for 5 million POUNDS when he is stilll relatively unproven at the higher level.... Players like Tom de Sutter are much much cheaper and have good european and international experience.

Rhodes is a good talent and will probably do well in the spl but players like De Sutter will improve our squad immediately and give us much needed target man presence in Europe.

Just my 2 cents and plus i think British players are heavily overpriced (stating the obvious)

I doubt we would be able to afford him, but think he could do a job up here.

Only way I think it would be good to get this lad is if we dumped Hooper and brought him in.

He has no big tournament experience, which is what we need.

Some guys are just natural goalscorers and will get goals at any level. Personally, i think Rhodes is one of them. Just always seems to be in the right place at the right time. I am desperate for us to sign him if i'm honest. Unfortunately, i can't see it happening. Instead of spending about 5million on him, we will continue to spend a few million here and there. If you take what we spent on Bangura and Murphy into account we would be more than half way there.I think its time we bite the bullet, get this guy in, and hopefully his goals will end up making us money in the long run.
