I think you might transcend, a higher life form, that we simply cannot see.
Id like to believe we continue on and fulfill a role or a sort of purpose.

Its more likely going back to the same way it was before you were born.

Death honestly terrifies me thats why I try not to think about it, and live as cleanly as possible.

should give that a watch, tells you what people who have died but been brought back to life experienced, about your soul leaving the body and you flying away n that.

I think your soul lives on after death.

edit: * the links didnt work, they did on the preview thingy :31:

The thing that gets me, about people talking out their 'soul' or 'spirit' moving on to a next life or living forever, is that they're totally abstract concepts, nothing tangible, no evidence to suggest that such things exist, they've just been invented by us, in an attempt to believe that there's more to life than just, well....life.

Pretty much a fear response, being unable to accept that this here is all that we are.

People want to believe their life has a higher purpose than just "living" horseshoe. For example cloning 500 years ago would have been an abstract concept, but now there is evidence for cloning, just because we don't know it now doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

500 years ago cloning wasn't even an idea, not a fair comparison in the slightest.

Cloning is purely scientific, and demonstrable.

You might as well say people 500 years ago didn't know about nuclear fusion. It's not relevant.

That's knowledge we've gained and developed over the years.

Souls, spirits, the afterlife and all that are pure belief, imagined in people's heads, there's not a single thing to back it other than people wanting it to be true for their own peace of mind.

Heaven + * imo are two man made things to scare us into believing in *, as we all would love to think we could go to a place like heaven. That way none of us would fear death.

I don't really know what to think tbh. Or how to explain what I think.

I think re-incarnation is not as daft as it sounds, I mean no one would ever know if it exists, not even when you die. Wouldn't really benefit from re-incarnation either, because you wouldn't know of your past life or that you died, would you? So it could well be a possibility that it exists.

I don't think you just die and that's the end. There has to be something that comes afterwards. For instance, people that "die" and come back to life often report seeing a bright, white light and a floating sensation, as if the soul is leaving their body and going somewhere else.

Honestly, who the * knows? We could all come back in a thousand years as stick insects. As long as I'm not a Rangers supporter.

I look at what we understand about the physical laws of the universe, and I see that - when you go beyond our limited perception of things - the fact is that nothing ever ceases to exist. Apart from certain tiny quantum particles that seem to appear and disappear, everything only ever changes, from one form to another - matter to energy, energy to matter, one type of energy to a different type. The only thing that ceases to exist is a particular arrangement, which gives way to another arrangement.

Because I believe that consciousness is a fundamental of things - like energy - I don't believe that it can go out of existence. Like energy it transforms from one state to another, or changes its associations. For example, it might cease to associate with a physical form which is breaking down. And possibly associate with another one: like reincarnation; or like an chemical reaction, where at a certain point atoms become part of a different compound.

Our bodies don't cease to exist when we die - so why should we assume that consciousness does? I believe it simply dissociates from the body, in a similar way that the molecules of the body will gradually dissociate from its structure.
