Sidwell is the perfect replacement for Lenny. Plays the same position but is far more mobile and can score a goal. Would look good in hoops.

If it happens though it's gonna cost us.

Skysports.com understands Steve Sidwell is on the verge of a dream move to Chelsea.
The dynamic midfielder is scheduled to undergo a medical at Chelsea at Monday ahead of a proposed move to Stamford Bridge.
Sidwell is not expected to feature for Reading in their final game of the season against Blackburn on Sunday as he prepares himself for his medical tests at Chelsea.
A number of clubs have been chasing Sidwell, who is available on a free transfer, after turning down a new deal at Reading.
However, it appears Chelsea have won the race for his signature in beating off interest from the likes of Newcastle, Everton and Middlesbrough. Should Sidwell seal his move to Chelsea he will become Jose Mourinho's first signing of the summer.

looks like the take it or leave it worked!!!
imagine him choosing a 'mega bucks' move to chelsea over us!!!
    money aint everything .....right then!!!
we werent even in the race...its gonna be a long looooong summer

    do you reckon?...
the winner of the coca cola championship play off will get a cheque from the premiership for £50 million...thats probably enough to buy every club in scotland (together) excluding the old firm...
epl will * up any major signings...of real quality.
most big players will want to grace that league now after this season as it will be the best league in the world with the most money!

Well St Mirren sold their ground for 15m so i don't think that is true.

Don't believe Sky's advertising when they say it is the best league in the world. There are 4 teams that can possibly win it now due to Murdoch's money. I'd rather watch the Spanish league TBH. 4 teams can still win it with 4 games to go.

Correct me if i'm wrong but did Lawell not claim that we had a wage bill that was the 5th most expensive in Britain? Our problem is the "glamour" factor around the EPL. That makes English based players overvalued eg Berbatov, signed from Germany for 10m and 1 season later quoted at 30m!

We can still get and compete for the quality players eg Keane and Bellamy are on what Graveson is earning.

    Keep the faith.

    hey....honest....
    im a happy camper mate...
i just think a reality check is needed....
yup a few years ago we did have the 5th highest wage bill in britain
but we had to cut that hence the departures of high earners ie..sutton,hartson,thompson,petrov..etc
since then the bottom premiership team(as from the forthcoming season) will have an additional £25 fkn million pounds broadcasting revenue on top of the normal £30 million £55 * million quid for the championship playoff winner!due to yhe £650 million pound international broadcasting deal.
so.... lets be honest with ourselves here!
the premiership is going to get far far bigger and be 'the place to be' for the worlds leading talent.
but...yeah.... when these 'blueprint' players arrive in england it will mean the decent talent surplus to requirements down south will become available.
but rumours such as 'sidwell'?? come on! who the f**k were we kidding???
    bottom line is .....
your portsmouths, boltons, villas of this world are going to be able to offer wages of £40-60,000 per week and unfortunately we cannot compete at that level nor would i want our club to!.
we will now operate in the same mould as ajax i think...
a couple of decent signings per year and bring through the youth...and you know what?...im really happy about that!
breed the talent then prosper in thier sale!
but if we have those problems above...the orcs are in deep deep *!....coz they are skint and pish!
