Lorcan Collins book on James Connolly. Superb.

Part of a series on those executed in the Rising, all being released in the lead up to the centenary.

Further cements James Connolly as one of my all time political and philosophical heroes.

Currently reading the 2nd games of thrones book just now, a clash of kings. Seriously good, anyone who likes the TV series should get involved in the books.

Well the Dal Riada were one of the groups yes moving from Ireland to western Scotland but it covered the whole or Ireland and Scotland so there were a number of other groups of Celts. In terms of origins it places the earlest know settlements in the Hallstatt area which is in modern central Austria. Which as an aside I had the oportunity to visit for a couple of days a few years ago and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If your ever in Austria and have the chance to visit Hallstatt do it it is stunning.

Finished a re read of Kevin Rafter's The Clann about the Clann Na Poblachta party which emerged briefly in Irish politcs after World War 2 and who had a very interesting although brief impact on Irish politcs.

Does anybody know of a forum for audiobooks. I'm just looking for ideas of books that are out on audio, not to download them.

Just finished Lost Girl by Adam Nevill, excellent semi apocalyptic thriller in the near future. Scarily looking like what could really happen as well.

About a man who's daughter is abducted and his hunt to find her and her captors.

Reading Silver by Steve Savile, again, really good religious thriller.

Finished a re read of Anne Rice's The Vampire Lestat. Really develops the characters introduced in Interview not just Lestat.

Just finished American Psycho. Either going to start Fear and Loathing in Las vegas or Atlas Shrugged.

Loved American Psycho. If you liked it you should try Glamorama by Brett Easton Ellis as well.

Set myself a target every year of at least averaging a book a week. Im on my 52nd just now. Taken for Dead by Graham Masterton. Its part of the Katie Maguire Series set in Cork about a female detective investigating a series of brutal killings in the Irish countryside.

The series of books are filled with Irish colloquialism, irish humour and mannerisms and are terrifying and brilliant. The whole series is fantastic and are among the best in the genre. Masterton now lives in Ireland and really captures the mood.

Sat down and read it from start to finish. Two or three really good stories in it and some really good stuff on the History and ethos of the club ( but probably best I don't get into that :celt_2:) :50:
