Woke up this morning prouder than ever to be a Celtic supporter, the atmosphere at the game yesterday will live long in the memory, it was an absolute joy to be a part of the mass huddle and Neil’s speech had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. Was over at a mate’s house having some beers after getting back from celtic park when i get a call from my big sister sounding rather shaken; she’s not into football at all and chides me for my all consuming love of Celtic! anyway, she tells me she had the misfortune to get on the Subway just after the games were done, and obviously all the Huns were crawling out the woodwork for their party (or should that be riot?) at Ibrox. So shes sitting in the train when some Hun, noticing that she’s not joining in with their bigoted singing demands to know why not, adding the charming phrase “whit, are ye a * pape!!??” my sister tells him that she doesnt care one way or another to which he replies by calling her a * *.

thankfully, there were two coppers on the train and they came in and took my sister away from him and off the train, assuring her that they guy would get lifted at Ibrox (I have my doubts though); though they gave her a lift home which was good of them. i just wish they could be more forceful in dealing with scum like that. felt so bad for my sister as well; what has she done to deserve it? i was so angry when i heard this (and still am); you can be sure if i was there i might have been a bit more “assertive”. they truly are scotland’s shame, no class in defeat and even less in victory.

It seems that we are all in the same boat, we have lost the league, but it's almost as if we've gained something far more important. The SPL is just a trophy, what we have today has made me 100x prouder than any piece of silverwear ever could. Under Neil Lennon we have come together as a support and as a family, stood united and defiant against forces of darkness trying to destroy us from all angles, be it the media, our rivals or the SFA.

The way that the crowd today came together to create what was certainly the best atmosphere at Celtic Park in a number of years was incredible, on a day when our most bitter rivals were on their way to a league title that we all felt should have been ours. The crowd singing along to Something Inside So Strong before the game and the show of support for our manager on the 18 minute mark showed unity that no other team in the UK can come close to, and made today my proudest day as a Celtic fan. I have seen Celtic do some wonderful things, and celebrated some unbelievable victories, but our entire supports attitude in defeat today has proved once again that we are deserving of the title of the greatest fans in the world. Today's huddle will truly go on to be one of those iconic 'I was there' moments that you tell you're children about. Standing shoulder to shoulder with 60,000 men women and children who would all take a bullet for one another is not something a lot of people can say they have done in their lifetime, I am lucky enough to be able to say that I do it every second Saturday.

Make no mistake about it, trophies are important, and with the way we are improving, they will inevitably come, it is not something I will lose any sleep over. Neil's interview after the game topped off what was already fantastic day, I am so relieved that he is not running from the bigotry that follows him every day of his life. His show of defiance to those who wish death on him brought a tear to more than a few eyes.

I wish the new season was starting next Saturday. This is just the beginning...

Yesterday was a proud day for Celtic no doubt about it. Despite just missing out on the league the whole club came together and showed the whole world what Celtic is all about. The main man who has given us our pride in Celtic back is Neil Lennon. If our team continues to grow and develops even half the strength of character and mental toughness of Neil Lennon the future looks very bright for us. As big a disappointment as not winning the league is Neil Lennon deserves incredible praise for rebuilding our team and giving us some great days this season and for the most part a team that plays attractive football.
