    Baldini and Pearce watch Celtic's Hooper as Capello considers call-up

    England manager Fabio Capello sent his assistants Franco Baldini and Stuart Pearce to watch striker Gary Hooper play for Celtic in their 1-0 Cup win over Rangers on Wednesday night.
    Rangers had Steven Whittaker and Madjid Bougherra sent off, then their forward El-Hadji Diouf was shown a red card after the final whistle.

    Hope they pick him, didnt play too well tonight I thought he looked like he was carrying an injury as he wasn't playing like he usually does and chose not to make some runs or close down which he always does.

    Good a chance as any for him though to get picked as Defoe and Crouch couldnt hit a barndoor at the moment and Carroll is injured.

    * England (no predjudice against the english Celtic fans) but our players will always be classed inferiour because we are in the spl. Do we care - no we wNt to keep hooper so their loss is our gain. Plus the fact he plays in the spl and therefore won't get a call up for England lowers his "true" value.

    That being said he may decide to move on at somepoint and it will be outwith our hands, however if freddy * lundberg is actually getting 40gs a week, hooper should be kept along with kayal, izzy and the rest instead of surplus players.

    Thoughts?
