If You Know the History

There are songs we’ve sang since we were young
Ballads our fathers always sung
Every Saturday as we walked down to Paradise
Excited to see the Celtic, shone in our eyes.

In the old Celtic End, we used to stand,
Wearing the green was every Celtic fan
Chanting the names of their favourite players
Waving banners, flags & scarf’s in the air.

We welcomed the players as they took to the field
Watching our heroes being led by Billy McNeill,
On the hallowed ground of old Celtic Park,
When playing for the Celtic, came from the heart.

From the back of the Celtic End to those in the Jungle
Songs for the Celtic were loud and vocal,
We celebrated every time the Celts scored a goal,
As supporting the Celtic, is born from your soul.

i remember going to Parkhead in the early 70's when big Billy was playing also went to his Testimonial when we played Liverpool.

The flags are gaily flying o'er Celtic Park today
Because the lads of Celtic have shown the World the way
They played the game in Lisbon and here is how they won
They didn't play defensive, attack is what they done
...
The flags are out for Celtic, they know just what to do
And Scottish hearts and Irish hearts are mighty proud of you

In all the big World over the name of Celtic rung
And in our heart of Glasgow our Celtic song was sung
