He is very young to be cast away imo. Another couple of years on loan maybe.

But he's young and more importantly: a left footed left-back. We should keep him even if he only amounts to backup.

I'd pick camara over him, and i dont rate camara at all, never did.

Mulgrew had a good spell at dundee, thats his level. he's slow and makes fundamental mistakes that full backs shouldnt make. Being 19 doesnt mean that he'll turn out like Maloney, McManus, McGeady, Beattie, they showed a * lot more promise

i agree with dempsey he can only strike a dead ball and he is one of the slowest full backs i have seen coming in not far behind paul telfer and i watched him against partick and he was even making mistakes against them so i think best thing to do is move him on

I strongly disagree!! I have watched him many times and he has good pace, and he is a very good defender that rarely makes mistakes!! He also is great at getting involved in attacks by getting down the left flank and putting great crosses in!! Yes he is 19 and isnt the finished article however, with a bit of work he could progress into a super defender with tremendous dead ball skill!!

Should a player be told to leave on the basis of 1 friendly match, ive watched Mulgrew in various reserve matches and for Dundee Utd. and he looked a good player better than thet diddy Camara anyway. I think theres something else going on here.

    Big deal.

You don't keep players because they are young and left footed full backs. He is not good enough for back up and I see no point in keeping a player who is destined for a career in the lower ranks of the SPL/First Division when all he can amount to is backup to Mo Camara.

We need quality throughout and the guy did well at Dundee United but I cannot see him maturing into Celtic class - or even Mo Camara class.

he cant defend . so he wont be much use. young lad.. good at going forward can hit a free kick... but a left back who cant defend ...isnt a left-back period...maybe if he learned to defend first instead of wandering upfield all the time he might develop...but not good enough either im afraid.
