He had 5 shots on target (2 blocked and 3 saved) and set up Kenny Miller's only chance against a very strong Chelsea outfit.

Personally, with Petrov on the way out to Villa and Lenny really looking his age we need Stephen in the squad.

Imo, £600,000 is a pittance and he isn't a big earner.

With Wallace, Camara and Virgo on the way out of Parkhead and Maloney, Kennedy, Balde and Beattie all injured - should we be selling Pearo?

The squad at the moment minus the above reads:

    Boruc
    Marshall
    Telfer
    McManus
    Caldwell
    Varga
    Wilson
    Lennon
    Sno
    Riordan
    McGeady
    Nakamura
    Jarosik
    Thompson
    Zurawski
    Miller

    That's 14 outfield players and 2 goalies!

We need to keep Pearson and probably Wallace and get at least a striker and left back in.

Didn't see the game, but I always liked the lad. Too bad it looks like he's on his way.

Don't think we need Wallace, though. I'd rather Mulgrew as backup (we will have a new LB in by the window's close.. just don't know how good he'll be)

I think he should stay as well, everytime hes on the pitch he shows a hunger for the ball and to drive the team forward they say it was the New Years day game that changed the season last year and gave celtic the momentum to go on and win it well it was Pearo's substitution that changed the game.

He also got a man of the match against Barcelona the game we won 1-0 and Thommo scored.

Pearson has a touch of a donkey. One good game, a friendly, and we should keep him? I dont think so, especially with Naka, Jiri, McGeady, Maloney, Riordan far superior.

Yes, but every team needs backup, and Pearo could do that for us. He's not on high wages or anything, and as was previously mentioned (against Barca) has played at the highest level.

I like Pearson, i like him better than McGeady because McGeady never has his head up and always runs into traffic. He's just a show-off kid.

Jarad, i hear what your saying but that was years ago against one of the weakest Barca sides in their history. He has failed to repeat that performance

Guitarbhoy90, even you have seen the vast improvement in McGeady's performances compared to the start of last season. He will become a brilliant player, he is learning from his mistakes

Pearson is a good squad player, I don't know how many games you have seen but McGeady has been 1 of our best players so far. He has a poor half in a friendly and he gets dogged, hardly fair.

Don't expect him to repeat the performance... just get back half that ability and he'll be cheap backup. Never said he should be/will be any more.

Players like Camara and Peason have great energy, i like that in a player but against skillful and technically brilliant european sides, the odds are that they will get slaughtered.

I wont say the touch of a donkey but I agree with Dempsey otherwise.
Pearson against Chelsea and in other games comes across to me with high expectations that really dont materialize, Pearson has played many games for Celtic if he is of importance how come he is still a fringe player, and we need people to play in the first team if not then at least challenge, Pearson is not that good to even challenge.
I thought it was said he is leaving for Derby, 600,000 pounds, was that just bullshit?
McGeady is a better all around player than Pearson, not in the Chelsea game granted, but more often!
Isnt it * sad we are reduced to talking and hoping about * fringe players, what have these mammy jammers that are at the helm of Celtic got us mumbling about.
Lets get rid of them! Please! :47:

why are people saying pero is not that good erm played well against barca one of our best players in 2004 came on against hearts to give us 3-1 win scoring and setting up mcmanus come on bhoys he is a game winner not a show of

mcgeady will be better soon but he can't finish good it always ends up a bad pass or misses the goals unless he hits the ball from far away like in celtic v aberdeen

But that miss against artmedia 3 yards away if it went in we would have went through :31: by mcgeady

So pero should really stay and be played more often

Ok, his touch goes further than I can kick a ball.

The deal with derby is suppose to go through soon enough

Pearo gives a bit of bite it the middle of the park, something that McGeady, Naka and Maloney do not. We shou;d keep him as the squad is weak and in a long hard season you never know when we will need a player like him. Personally I think the boy is a good squad player to have and always gives 100% to the team. Unlike Naka who has all the fancy touches but sometimes cant get into the game.

Not one good game, Man of the match against Barcelona and changed the game at Tynecastle last season to name a few. Although everyone you have mentioned are better players with the exception of McGeady.

BIG HEART..............small talent. Not good enough to hold down place in starting line-up, and wants first team football. Move to Derby sounds good for both parties.

How can we just offload most of our squad with no sign of any replacements? Even fringe players have a role, ie when players get injured or suspended.
