A Victory for the Bhoys in Green & White
As I stood and watched the Celtic play the Rangers
On a cold and dreary Sunday afternoon,
I saw Martin O’Neill’s mighty Glasgow Celtic
Take to the field to a famous Celtic tune.

The Parkhead faithful stood there in their masses
With their scarf’s raised high, their voices sang ’Walk On’
And missing from the pitch was a Celtic hero,
Suspended from the game was bold Neil Lennon.

As Hugh Dallas blew his whistle for the kick-off,
I’m sure I heard the angels in heaven sing
While Sutton partnered Hartson at centre-forward
Young Aiden McGeady would run riot down the wing.

The old east end of Glasgow was soon rejoicing
As Sutton ran onto a ball flicked from Hartson’s head
With his eye on the goal he took a shot that was goal-bound
As he slid the ball through Stefan Klos’s legs.

We held our lead ‘til a minute after half-time
When Ricksen rose to head home Rangers’ goal,
The faithful stood bewildered and in silence,
I could hear my father curse within my soul.

Alex Rae, the hard man of the Rangers,
Young McGeady, the starlet who rose through Celtic’s Youth
Collided as they both went for a challenge,
Will Jim Craig, The Lisbon Lion, fix Rae’s broken tooth?

Would we cross the Clyde to Ibrox for a replay
As the minutes of the game were drawing in,
But Celtic Park was once again rejoicing
As Hartson’s shot gave the famous Celts the win.

A victory for the Bhoys in green and white
As we applauded the display of each Celtic man,
We went home singing songs of the Glasgow Celtic,
How we are proud to be raised a Celtic fan.
