Yeah Naka made a go of it here. Who else is there though?

Koki's flopped and the jury is still out on Ki. I'd rather wait and see if Ki can cut it here before investing in more players from that area. I know all players are different but there is such a big culture gap and difference in the way football is played in Scotland compared to Asia that makes signing players from that part of the world a gamble imo.

I dont think we should stop signing players from a certain area just because one has flopped. Yes Koki has flopped but so has samaras so should we stop buying European players etc.... cant do business that way IMO. yes the jury is still out on players from this region but Ki just signed for us and had that clown Mowbray in charge, lets how he does under Lenny for a full season.

I'm not saying I'm throwing the towel in on Ki because I'm not. I too will be very interested to see what he does this season. At this point signing players from that part of the world still feels like a gamble to me though. Perhaps once there are two or three more success stories to talk about then I will feel happier about the whole thing.

I also still feel that shirt sales is the elephant in the room here and that's wrong. Celtic should never buy any player on the basis of how many shirts that player can sell for the club.

yep mate I can understand your skepticism but I think he should be judged on his own performance and not by fellow countrymen or from the region. Anyway looks like he is signing so it doesnt matter what we think ha. Lets hope he fits in quick to Glasgow life:50:

sheesh guys neither koki nor ki have played lots of games and are both still young and have time on their side naka was a lil lightweight when he arrived but toughened up and in the end looked a good player so lets give them all a chance anyone who watched korea and japan cant help but have been impressed by their atitude and performances

    Just for the record.

He's born and raised in Germany, and have played there his whole career. Maybe he's playing for the South Korean national side, but I count him as a German.

For me, there's no difference from buying him or everyone else from the Bundesliga.
And I would put my money on, IF he signs, it would be for his abilities as the main reason. Anything else would be a bonus.

In all fairness the guy is not coming from asian football as such, he has played in the bundesliga which is one of the top leagues in the world :celt_2:

Get him for free and getting 2m plus For hinkel would be good business IMO.

Campbell on a free, mcmanus out brings in another 1.5-2m as well.

Mulgrew is a free, sameras could leave for up to 2m.

We are still in with a shout of getting bullard and ledley as well, at no outlay.

This could be a very interesting transfer window ;-)

Yep it could be the way it is turning out. I don't see us getting linked with any donkeys this year, which is another good thing. Just hoping that if we get Bullard he can stay injury free as possible.
