They claimed Mowbray had told Brown he had no future at the club and insisted we wanted him sold. The club threatened to sue them, as it was clear pish.

Hence, we all hate the Laptop Loyal that little bit more, and I can find something to smile about :50:

i think mainly because they were so utterly, absolutely positively, no more bets, odds on 100% certain that Brown had been told he had no future...so how do they explain mogga making Brown Captain? :97: i'd love to see that article :56:

Not many leaders at Mowbray's disposal so probably the best choice of non-loan celtic players. They'd better get him coached for interviews though as he sems like a right thick *.

Hopefully he can learn to control the ball better and not kicking it 10ft in front of him all the time and losing possession, if he sorts that out and galvanises the team then he can nod and shake his head in interviews

    Disappointing for me.

The guy is vastly over-rated and clattering into opposition players after you lose control of the ball doesn't count as 'dig' as others call it.

Its make or break for him for sure and he'll get my backing now he has it, but he's never a Celtic captain for me.

Somerthing like this would be good!

    _____N'GUEMO___BROWN____CROSAS_____
    _________________KI__________________
    __________KEANE_____KAMARA__________

We don't need to drop anyone who has been playing well of late in midfield , you could swap Ki with McGeady and Kamara with Fortune/Ras but you get my point!

Not many other options. Personally I feel Brown has to sort his own performances before motivating others and I hope this role doesn't heap too much pressure on him.

Character wise, he has the winning mentality which we are so short off in our starting 11 at the moment so it makes sense.

Keane might be an option if hes here next season (which he won't be obviously).

At the end of the day is just an arm band, its not like you need to have one to be allowed to speak on the pitch. Motivators will still be that, Keane will benefit us in this way to.

Not happy about the decision just now imo but like everyone else I will give Broony a chance and hopefully he takes it. Massive opportunity now for him to show what he can do.

Agreed. I personally think it is the worst decision in Mowbrays tenure so far. I hope I'm proved wrong but I reckon he's pretty much stuck the nail in his own coffin with this decision.

Scott Brown is one of the last people in the Celtic squad i'd give the captaincy. He is a training ground clown, doesn't organise or harry his team mates isn't vocal at all contrary to popular belief, is thick as * and to top it all off he is * at football just the same as the previous captain.

    :38: from me.

He is the closest we have to an old style driving force. He is a hot head so its a gamble but it could be the making of him. He is one of the last guys in the squad who have that aura that they would die for the team on the pitch rather than concede an inch. I think you need one or two like that in SPL football. I still think Broony is a couple of improvements away from being a * of a player as long as you do not expect a touch player. We have plenty neat touch players now. I thought in the last couple of games it was the more raw element we lacked. I think though that long term our spine will be improved if it includes Jos, Broony and Rass. They have the northern European raw touch. So hail hail Broony. I know some have an issue with his alleged Rangers childhood leanings but think Jock, King Kenny, Lambo, Robson, Murdo, etc. Most people who play for us come to support us for life.

Guys got fight thats about it. Can't think of many other suitable candidates though. coulda been worse, could have gone with O'dea, Boruc, Mcgeady, who are equally as mardy/clownish. See O'dea spit dummy out vs Hibs ? Loovens is a bombscare who had the arm band on the other day, scary. Personally i think Hinkel would have been a good shout, although hes not vocal hes efficient and probably the most consistant player in the squad.

It will not look clever in the summer IMO. How much will it cost to get a new poacher who scores in the big games and CL? I think him and Rass would have been a good pairing, a bit like Skippy-JVOH which although not pretty produced a lot of goals when they were both fit. I do not like these funny players like Fortune, Kamara etc who are not quite strikers or wingers. They are only good in a 4-3-3 or something like that. I also think Caldwell-Jos could have been a great pairing too. This one good one in and one good one out policy is frustrating.

Also the effort and fight argument.....put me in a Celtic jersey and about 90% of this forum and we'd run through brick walls for Celtic without even thinking twice about it.

We need more than 'effort' 'dig' and 'fight' from the centre of midfield. We need creativity, craft, guile and ability. Getting paid a working class man's annual wage every single week should ensure the effort and fight are 2 givens before a ball is even kicked.

OK thats all his best bits. What do you not like about Broony?:icon_mrgreen:

I do agree its a gamble but Mogga actually said in interview that he wanted to build Celtic around Broony. I think this goes back to the Hibs days the pair shared.
