I started whey protein this morning before I went to the gym, The only thing, I forgot to buy one of the scoops to to measure how much I am taking so I just judged it. Any one any ideas on how many tea spoonfulls I should take & also any idea where I could buy one of the measure scoops, Tryed tesco & asda but had no joy.
    Cheers

Mate the bottom line is its all about you !!!
You might have to take 0 protein shakes a day or you might have to take 10 protein shakes a day.
Protein shakes are made to be convenient to people who can not get enough Protein in normal food throughout there day. They are not magic its just Protein. Look at the back of a can of tuna, frozen chicken breast you will see the protein values.
I personally have a protein shake when I step out of bed because I cant be bothered eating a chicken breast for breakfast.
So I take it you will be the same.
So 1 protein shake in the morning for you Nick. 30-40g of Protein.
The reason being is you have been asleep for hours and you have not had any protein in a long time so your muscles need it to repair themselves.

Then PWO ( post workout ) after weights. Thats the only 2 times a day I take a protein shake.
The reason is because my diet is sorted before bed. I don't need a protein shake. It would be pointless because it would be useless
( do you see why I am saying its individual )
You might need one you might not ??????

If you are having a heavy protein meal before bed then you don't need a protein shake. If your not having a heavy protein meal before bedl ( and you should ) Then a 25g of protein in milk should see you through the night.

Its all about you mate. If you have not had a meal in 3 hours at anytime then yeah get 30g of Protein in to your system at least. Its not the best thing but its better than nothing. Remember its a supplement.

3-4 days is good mate. Muscles are not built inside the gym (remember that) They are built outside the gym, recovery and diet.

As for the supp make your own choice mate. But my opinion dont fvckin bother. Its a waste of money.
The only thing you need to worry about is getting Whey Protein, Creatine ( CEE ) and food, food ,food.
If you take them 3 tips and lift heavy you will build muscle.

In my early days training, I wasted alot of money on great sounding supps, so did all the guys I go to the gym with ( and these guys arent little men )
None of us buy any supps anymore. We havent in years. Apart for the basics Whey and Creatine.
Save your money and buy some food Nick.

But mate its up to you.

    Good luck

You not got a set of food scales?

You could use them and put your amount into a wee plastic container and weigh?

Thanks pal. Top tips. A like it!

A have a good diet and i always like to gear it towards protein foods. I have a big appetite anyway and generally can eat a lot. That would be ok, i imagine, with the correct foods.

Aye of course mate life is not supposed to be strict we arent Pro Body Builders or anything.
Best thing to do mate is pick a cheat meal or 2 for one day a week. Say a sunday. So you can look forward to that your whole week. Thats what I do.
It keeps you sane and helps trick your metabolism.

What I meant was when I said don't take it to far is don't go on a 48 hour cocaine and Vodka binge.Thats the sort of * I used to do, and I still need a good smack in the head sometimes to tell me don't do this *. I couldn't train again until the following Wednesday for years. Lots of people do that and wonder why they haven't built any muscle.
You haven't fvckin eat in 2 days mate ? What do you expect ?

Have a chippy and a few pints mate no harm in that. Just don't overdo it.
I found out the hard way mate both lifestyles are incompatible with one another.

    Good luck Nick

Starting up the gym tomorrow after ages away from it. Its 3 quid in a time and that gets you the gym, swimming pool and health suite (sauna, jacuzzi) or 30 quid a month gets you the same things as many time a month you want. Gonna ease into it got a small bench press, legs weight multi-gym thing and a boxing bag which I use 3 times a week in hour sessions.
