Mark Venus has come out and said that there will be changes for our meaningless game in Vienna, which i think, is a good thing as it means we wont run the risk of injuries to key players and that. but that got me thinking, if we change the team that has got a good bit of form now, would that have a knock-on effect domestically as it will effect confidence and all that?

would you play the same team or make a number of changes?

    No.

Gives young players experience in Europe, which is great.

Gives our best players a rest.

    We may still win.

I'd give all the younsters a run. Except from Boruc & Fortune who still need some playing time.

Dont think there will be much change to be honest !! You just need to look at the Squad he has took out there , i expect to see Caddis,McGinn,Fortune & Zaluska in but apart from that nothing much

I would not change the winning team 1%. Keep the momentum, if anyone gets injured, replace them for the next league game, but keep the core familiar with themselves on the pitch.

Bad idea IMO. What if say, McGeady gets in a bad challenge and is ruled out for 2 months, all for a meaningless European tie..

I agree with someone earlier, keep the core of the team the same, dropping guys like Hinkel and McGeady for guys like Caddis and McGinn. :50:

    No, but injuries will.

Rest most of the 1st team, we're out anyway & some of our reserves will be bursting a gut to prove their worth.

Playing a big game at the weekend at Tynecastle will provide it's own motivation, no need to worry about momentum there pal.

Id agree with you there mate!!!

dont see any problem with giving otheres european experience and at the same time keeping our recent starting eleven on their toes before our game on sunday!!

if anything i think resting a few will make them more hungry to go out and get 3 points at the weekend!

If anything we will get a better performance from a team of fringe players as they will be wanting to prove the ability because if we played the first team they would be wary of injury and know that the match has no importance.

Interesting about Naylor. Wonder if Mowbray will be keeping a regular 3 (or even 4) of our back line in an effort to develop some kind of consistency against a decent side. Also Fox probably needs the game - doesn't look confident right now.

Shame about McCourt, thought this would be a big chance for him to show another match-winning flash of brilliance punctuating 90 minutes of jogging after shadows :86:

I hope we rest our key players and give others a chance. I don't think it will effect our recent run of form. If anything it will help us giving key players like McGeady a rest. Also it gives some of the fringe players a chance to show what they can do.

"Mighty" McCourt my *, this guy is constantly injured - is he made out of bog paper?

Shame, cos from what I've seen of him he is a fabulous footballer....gutted!

I agree we should play mostly our subs plus Fortune and Boruc, but we should also give Hinkel a chance since he is fighting for a place on the German National team and a european game would help to raise his profile

Big mistake dropping Samaras and Aiden against Vienna/ Who cares about giving games to players who are on the fringes, Celtics' excellent Momentum has been binned. This will affect the league form.

with any sort of luck they could have a good performance, and maybe a decent offer could come in for a player that mowbray isnt keen on.
