    Celtic Triangle Approved

    By <ADDRESS class="vcard author">Paul67</ADDRESS> on <ABBR class=published-AT title=2009-12-11T12:48:17+00:00>December 11, 2009 12:48 PM</ABBR> | Permalink | Comments (26)
Glasgow City Council's Executive Committee today approved the Masterplan for redevelopment of the Celtic Triangle, an extensive area around Celtic Park owned by the club. The plan encompasses a hotel, restaurants, bars, a Club Museum, housing and commercial property.

The first phase of the plan, which will considerably enhance both the appearance of the area as well as facilities available to football fans and other visitors, is due to be complete for the opening of the Commonwealth Games at Celtic Park in 2014.

This is great news for the club, who have been discreetly working on this plan since before others in the city went public with stadium-area redevelopment projects based on fantasy.

Take a lingering look at the surrounds of Celtic Park, the view will soon be consigned to history. Well done to Celtic and to the City Council for pulling the project together.

    great news!

im sick of eating out of chip vans around the ground so a restaruant would be great to see.

the hotel will be great news for fans like me who have to travel a good bit to get to Celtic and instead of staying in the centre of the city you will be staying beside Parkhead and wont have to worry about travelling to the match. as well as the jobs this will create for the locals

In fairness, Paul at CQN does have good connections with the club, and occasionally they will throw him an exclusive.

But in general I think you're right - I'd be surprised if this ACTUAL plan that is going to be carried out got anywhere near the coverage of Murray's 700M Final Fantasy offering.

there should be more family friendly places that can sell food and serve beer
these places will be jam packed with young familys after all we should take care of our future fans and not have to worry where you can get proper food and a few beers to go with it without any hassle
so fair play lets see it happen:50:

Right next to Celtic Park? Why would Celtic want that? Why not just go to the game?

Would be good if they could redevelop the family stand too, to make the whole stadium the same size all the way round

Agree with you it would look great with 75,000 seats in there but Celtic cant fill the stadium as it is ,Rangers games and Euro nights thats the only time i feel they would fill it.

I would like to have seen some football fields so as to inspire young ones to play for celtic but deffinately a good move! the area surrounding celtic park is one of the most deprived areas in the whole of the country
