Brown only got a 4 because he was only on the park for a short time lol... In the first half heid made a couple wee mistakes but recovered from them well and 1 i can remember in the second which he recoved and got the ball back from aswell.. Apart from that i thought the two centre backs were both solid enough last night

His passing was more wayward than normal but he was far from a nightmare. Couple of sketchy long passes and a lapse in concentration on the halfway line which he ended up getting back and retrieving.

He had a ropey night for sure.

Think his form improved when he cut out all the crap and started just defending last season, but chesting it down on the edge of the box last night was lunacy and a couple of other risky moments that could have cost us was back to his old ways.

I think we can forgive him that though, he aint put a foot wrong for months. :50:

Caldwell was mince i thought, and could have cost us a goal. Not too mention the numerous stupid tackles he went into and if it hadn't been for the good ref he would have * us.

The paper just bums him as hes Scottish.

I thought Caldwell looked dodgy in both legs, compared to Loovens who looked untroubled throughout the two games.

I think you are right. And I also think Loovens is our best CB now.
The problem is who is best out of Caldwell. McManus and O'Dea to partner him.
Or will we need to go out and buy a quality experienced CB ?

He wasnt great but I also think donati in front of him did him no favours, if you think back to the days of lennon or lambert they usually had the ball squared away before the centre back got near it

He had one bad mistake in the second half but otherwise had them well marshalled. Both centre backs had the better of Dinamo throught the second leg.

The big worry came from set peices, and we'd be * if Hinkel wasn't in the right place at the right time. But we're using a new system, against players who were more match sharp than we were, so...

Maloney 6.5 - Took a long time to get in to the game and had some terrible set-pieces. Warmed up enough to cause real pressure as the game unfolded.

Nguemo 8.5 - Pips Loovens for the best player of the night. Absolutely textbook ushering of play from his anchor role in midfield - swept up well, tackled wonderfully and distributed well from deep in his own half.

Donati 4 - Might as well have stayed at home. It could be that the Italian cannot play on the same pitch as Nguemo, but Scott Brown would have been a better choice as a creative midfielder.

McGeady 7 - Always looked for a way through and almost bagged himself a goal. Great play from the Ireland international.

can someone tell me when mcgeady almost scored? are they getting maloney and mcgeady mixed up for the chance just before samaras scored?
