Hi ... just wondering what yas make of our chances this season in the CL if we get through to the group stages .

From the MON years up to strachan, we've had some great nights in europe and have gained a lot of experience. Beating the likes of Juventus , Man utd , liverpool , just shows you the heights this club can get to. This club has been starved of european sucess for too long. I hope the new management team really push hard this season to make a mark in europe.

I believe if we can sort out our away record .. we can push for quarter final places, because our home record is unbelievable.

    Realistically what do yas think?

If we make it to the group stages, then i think we have a chance. We just need a bit of luck, like drawing Inter Milan in the group stages and not Man U or Barcelona.

Drawing inter in the group stage if we get their would be just as bad as drawing man u or barca. i would rather have any of the top 4 than inter cos we would have no chance in the san siro

agreed. especially with the teams we would be drawn against in the playoffs. They are all better than us. Ano were celtic ano were a massive club with great traditions but the league we are in holds us back in terms of competing with the big clubs we would play in the group stages.

I don't think it matters where we travel mate, we don't have a chance away from home with the record hanging over the head...:87:

An achievement itself would be getting in to the champs league proper .

Inter are no where near the quality of Barca or Man u or even Liverpool.

I worry about the 3rd quailfying stage if we get past the 2nd round.
Locomotive are midway through their season and match fit.
If we get through then we have a seeded team which means a good team, i really hope we can get there.

We've got to remember that teams like Arsenal and Stuttgart wont fancy coming to Parkhead in the play offs just as much as we dont fancy getting them.

I think we'll get to the groups but will struggle to get any further depending on our draw.

I was under the impression that the playoff section was completely unseeded as well (thanks to mis-information from a "friend") so I would just concentrate on getting into the CL proper and then maybe think of making it into the last 16!

I think we'll be doing brilliantly to reach the group stage at all.

We have to accept the fact that under Gordon Strachan we really were punching well above our weight in reaching the knockout phase at all - never mind twice in a row.

We never managed it once under MON, and if we do it under Tony it will be a real achievement.

As I understand it, if we beat Dynamo, in the third qualifying round our opponents will be one of Arsenal, Fiorentina, Stuttgart, Atlético Madrid and Lyon.

Putting out any of these teams we will require two top quality performances from our fledgling team. If Artur is back to his best then we always have a chance - but we are fighting the odds all the way. we will be considerable underdogs.

Last 16 / quarter-finals? No point in even speculating at this stage.

Yeah ano. I just think we might have more chance of doing it going down to england than travelling abroad to a different timezone.
