under 19 cull??

Saw a story in the Sun about the entire u 19 squad being chopped??

Whats the story here bhoys??

Sorry if this is old news but i havent heard anything of it, it seems a tad extreme if correct.

 

does that mean ritchie towell, michael tidser, luca santonocito are all released

 

Seen last week that Tidser was away - I thought he looked a great prospect aswell

 

I would think they will move some of the decent players into the reserves

i thought the celtics policy was to breed the youth and save money,,under19s ..the guys there are not boys anymore there young men with one eye on the first team,

the youth system eh,seems like another crock of * from celtic park,,

 

no money for players ,no under 19 squad,and a * first team,,wow,,where are the club heading


thats * me off big time,,

 

would be very sad if that was true. for example, under 19 basel just beat u19 manchester united 5-1, gc zurich beat real madrid 2-0 and there won't be a u19 celtic team anymore?

 

i thought lennoxtown was built partly to give the boys the best start in there carear,,and to attract top players and improve the current lot

some people live under the impression lennoxtown = success and trophies. they forget the most important thing: the players and squad

 

Bet this has something to do with the SPL scrapping the reserve league next year !! ....

 

I thought they had reversed that decision and there was going to be a reserve league next season?

Thought I had read it somewhere after the reserves got their eighth title that next year they would be trying to make it nine, although can't seem to find that comment now.

 

Why have they scrapped the full squad of 19s? Santonicotto, tidser and towell looked like great prospects, but I seen santonicotto was in the reserve squad on tuesday so I think he will still be here.

 

people read to much into this the u 17s must have some good prospects and they will be moving them up to 19s remember you cant move a whole team up there will always be better players at other age groups who will take there place

 

So was it the entire under 19 squad or only those born in 1990 and therefore approaching the age limit for playing with the youths as the article seems to contradict itself by saying the entire squad and then if you were unlucky enough to be born in 1990.

Also they state "they should be OK for next year" which suggest there is still going to be an under 19 squad next season.

 

Don't like where all this cost cutting is going

to be fair we dont know if it was cost cutting or simply they didnt think they were good enough because lets be honest if they thought for a minute they could make money from them then they would

forest made his debut for the reserves about 2 weeks ago and he scored a cracker. anyone know if the two latvians were released

 

Been there myself, way back. Not nice at all.

But, if your not good enough the club should not carry you to be nice. Either you have it or you don't, clearly they don't.
