Watched War Horse last night. Not a fan of Spielberg in general but Im a sucker for historical epics.

Didnt like it. Very good to look at as might be expected but I thought is pretty much passed up so much of WW1 and was very simplistic and predictable. Didnt expect to love it but even then I still left disappointed.

I agree, i love war movies/historical movies, yet this one while the scenery and the Horse were outstanding, the substance of the movie left a lot to be desired. There were a few touching and good moments but few and far between. It was a decent movie but nothing special.

On another note i know that Spielberg also directed parts of Band of Brothers, how i would love if they created a version based on British events. Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, The Pacific, all brilliant films or mini series, yet they are all based following American stories, where are the British based ones. Just something i would love to see if they ever made one.

Saw The Grey a few hours ago, alright movie, nothing special, neeson carried the movie somewhat, without him it would have been a B movie frankly.
