O'dea is as much a left back as you are ? Aye ok.
I'd also like to see him in the centre but I'd like to see him stay at lb for the remainder of the season.
As for your last point, the bhoy has just had the greatest moment of his career so far playing at lb, so that's rubbish tbh.

If I was getting picked I'd play anywhere for Celtic, doesn't mean it would be my best position!

And let's not run away with ourselves by comparing O'Dea to the 4 you mention.

Your last point is valid though. If he was going to be played at LB we would have to alter our play and tbh I think O'Dea at LB would only work with a 4-5-1

That was one game, albeit a final.

He's not a LB and if we were to try to play him at LB for any length of time we'd have to compensate drastically for the fact he's not the type of running back Strachan likes backing up the midfield.

The problem hasn't been the amount of money we've spent (i believe GS has spent more in his time did than the previous manager did in his) it's the fact that the money we've had has been spread out and used to gather a big squad.

There is only so many bit-part players you can have and i think NOW is the time to start buying one or two TOP players rather than a handful of squad members. If we do that then Strachan will have worked the money he's had perfectly.

    Down oh negative stick man!

We don't need to spend money. We have a squad packed with talent and a genius at the helm. Happy Daze !

The figures are closer than we have been lead to believe.

And the main point of your post is absolutely correct.

Fully agree though squire, we are one (quality) left-back and one or two big profile signings (that work) away from a good "last-16" level side.

Problem is signing the right player for the right price - we simply cannot enter into wage/transfer auctions against probably the other top 5-10 leagues. For example what happened to Hutzi preferring the money in Russia to us.

Of course i wasn't comparing him to those players but what i was saying is that they are all players that are centrebacks that can play at fullback. You never know, he might grow into the position.

As for the formation, it might just mean when we are playing 442 that McGeady has to concentrate far less on defensive work. I know that WGS likes attacking fullbacks but Naylor hasn't provided that for a couple of years so why not just have someone that is solid in defence, even if he doesn't provide much going forward?

However the stubbling block is the players wages.

Does Bobos contract end after this season?

Thats what adding the option to sign another £35,000 a week player?

    Could be promising :icon_mrgreen:

I agree, when samaras first pulled on the hoops he was insane man and his ratio was no fluke.

Ever since his injury he hasn't been the same, but remember in each of those games he scored or the biggest majority of them he was supported by maloney.. now that was a partnership that excited me alot and its not happened since he came back from injury.

My view is give sam another season with a fully fit maloney and see where he goes from there, i truly feel those 2 are the future of the celtic front line.

His link up play with maloney was amazing and sammy looked really sharp and quite pacey aswel if i remember.

We need to concentrate on a lb

Since WGS has come in he's spent roughly £7.5mil per season on transfer fees...

So with debt now virtually £0 (£900k if your being fussy) A nice kitty of around £10mil is what i think we could be spending come the summer..and with balde gone, a sizeable chunk of the wage bill will be freed up as well...

    What
