    I was never comfortable with the religious aspect that he tried to imbue republicanism with. A good old age though.

    I saw him as more of a Catholic nationalist than a republican in the mold of Connolly or Sands.

    Probably very Pearsean in his views.

    True republican that gave alot to the cause! Agreed with his comments a few years ago about the Ra decommissioning and betraying the people for giving up them arms. Loved him saying “I regret nothing,” a man who sticks to his princables right to the end!

    I could be wrong but wasn't it Billy McKee the one who mentioned Martin McGuiness was a tout and set him up to get him offside so they could gain control.

    I think that was Brian Keenan Leeso.

    Although it seems that story only seems to have been made public via O'Callaghan.

    No, definitely don't think it was him. I could be wrong though. Was it not one of the older volunteers that ran things before Adams and McGuiness took over. I can only go by what I've read and Keenan was to young then to be one of the ones in control.
