Could be the next “Feed the bear.” He is going nowhere for the next few seasons.

I thought similarly about Tierney. I don't think we can say with any certainty how long players will stay these days, unfortunately, mate.

He's only 21, so hopefully he's in no rush to leave. I think he still has room to grow at Celtic.

He’s still learning his position Vertie. It would be career suicide for the lad to jump too soon. I can see him with us for 11 in a row.

I agree. If a natural centre-half of Benković's quality can't break into the Leicester City squad, one has to imagine that Ajer would struggle for game time there too. This is the best place for him at this stage of his career.

Noticed an Ajer vs Benkovic debate on Twitter.

    Hard one to call IMO.

Benkovic arguably the better defender at the moment but Ajer’s potential is limitless and I’d say Ajer is better physically.

If Leicester do come calling for Ajer, I’d like to see Benkovic come in our direction as part of the deal along with a large sum of cash (£20m).

I'm not sure why Benkovic hasn't made the bench for Leicester ahead of a 35 year old Wes Morgan as yet. I don't know if he is out of favour or struggling for game shape.

Leicester have a settled partnership at centre half and it makes sense having the experience of Morgan as back up.

The Turkish lad is class and Evans is one of the most under rated defenders of the last decade for me. Always through the was quality.

Ajer would be an idiot to go to them at this point, he is at least 2 if not 3 seasons away from fulfilling his promise.

Morgan will be gone at the end of this season so they will need 4 CB's. Soyuncu or the Turkish lad, Evans, Benkovic and one more.
Having said that it would be a bad move for Ajer as he would be 3rd or 4th in the pecking order.

I think the Leicester call if true may be br planning for the tactics he got up here against his system , ajer breaks rigid defensive play by coming forward and pulling players out of position , still think he is 2 years away from being a complete player who could choose his team when he decides to call it a day

By far his best game in the Hoops tonight, was absolutely flawless, his covering exceptional, use of the ball unreal.

Him and Julien complete leaders at the back

Like others have said back to his best! Just shows having someone like big Julian beside him has done him wonders.

Hopeless is slightly harsh I'd say, although he should be much better in the air. He's actually taller than jullien but you'd never think it the way they both attack the ball.

Historically, he has been poor in the air, for a guy his size. Needs to work on that.

Wouldnt say he is learning his position any less than any other player. The learning should neve really stop. he has more first team games for us as a centre back than Edouard has as a forward.

The point being he was always a midfielder hence why I said learning his position.
