Last time we went into a final day of a window looking for 4 players we ended up with Keane, Diomansy Kamara, Paul Slane and Edson Braahfheid.

If it happens, I expect the same. Lucky if we get one decent signing. Worst time imaginable to look for a good deal.

3 loan deals and a freebie. The most Lawwell deadline day ever.

Shambles. From boardroom to recruitment we are a joke. We haven't even had a plan in place in case we lose our best players. And to make it worse Rogic is now playing injured as well as Brown. Sunday is going to be a * nightmare

It's obvious we are trying to sell before we buy.

This is what Rodgers said this morning:

Asked if there will be any more players going out before the deadline, even on loan the manager replied:

“There will be. Our squads are way too big, it’s as simple as that”
When I came in here a couple of years ago I felt the squad was too big then, too big in order to have any competition in your squad and to have the right spirit and everything that you need to be a successful team."

“We cut the squad down at that point and we find ourselves at the point a couple of years in with a similar sort of number.”

Rodgers turned his attention to players who need to head out to get experience but has also said there are players in his squad who have been told they will not be getting game time and it would be in their best footballing interests to move on.

The Celtic manager accepts however that some may not want to go because they’re on a contract they wouldn’t get elsewhere.

“So there are definitely players that need to go get experience and get games. There are some players that know exactly where they stand in terms of their future, they’re not going to get games but they’re sat on a contract and of course, it’s within their rights to do what they need to do."
“It’s whether they want to go and play games and whether a deal can be done between clubs to make that happen”

Wonder who he means when he says "There are some players that know exactly where they stand in terms of their future, they’re not going to get games but they’re sat on a contract...."

Commper, Allan, Bitton, Benyu, de Vries, Hayes, Christie, Boyata?

Timing is absolutely horrible. But it has been on the cards, in regards to Dembele.
It's the recruitment teams time to shine now though. If we fail to deliver anyone it's time for them to go. I'm not on the Peter Lawell hate bus. Despite everything he is just a man doin a job and despite the passion. He's doing his bit. Run like a business and increase earnings. Brendan doing his bit, delivering winning attractive football. Sure it's been a bit stale as late. But he's still doing it. Only person to blame here is recruitment in my opinion.

The WHOLE team in fact the whole match day squad that beat Rangers 5-0(going on 10) to win the title in April are still there, do you think they have improved that much that we need fear them?? I don't certainly not after watching the Well game.Even if we sign nobody before Sunday we are still far stronger than them or indeed anyone else in he country. We have not improved our squad to be more competitive in Europe which is hugely disappointing but we are still by far the best team in the country

It's not so much the team it's the whole feeling around the club at the moment and that has been reflected on the pitch. The performances haven't been good at all and that could still be the case on sunday when we should be going into the game buzzing. Yes your right we are still by far the best team in the country but our squad is much weaker as well with no signs of strengthening

Roberts isn't, unused sub on the day but he's no longer here.

    You're also overlooking that:

Boyata wants away, will he be in the right frame of mind if he doesn't get his move? can we trust him to give us a shift?

Broony, Rogic & Tierney are all carrying knocks.

Gordon couldn't catch a cold currently.

Edouard & Griffiths are both coming back from injury and will lack match sharpness.

Not going to talk about them, not interested. Our problems are all of our own doing.

Not a kneejerk reaction here but if the window ends and we have not replaced Roberts,Armstrong,Dembele etc suitably and we stutter through the rest of the season they can take a flying * to themselves if they expect me to renew next season.

Probably the strongest financial position we have ever been in and they start downsizing us? Why should we shell out £500 for a season ticket, plus HCTS, away games, merchandise, matchday supplements etc just to be shat on?

There’s a difference between supporting our club and being taken for a * ride by the greedy * upstairs.

I understand what your saying and yes the whole place is flat just now but that can be turned around very quickly(Brendan will have to earn his money to do that) ,i dont see that the squad is significantly weaker though?Roberts and Armstrong spent most of last season on the sidelines and neither hit the form of the invincible season ,Dembele will be a loss if he goes but again he missed a lot of games and lost form last season too.We could certainly do with some new faces to freshen things up but if we don't get them now then we will still win the league.Thing is even if our squad dropped to the level of the huns(which its still hugely better than) one would think a manager of Brendans ability would still manage to defeat a * rookie .

Completely agree with that mate. Think we just need to screw the nut and try see the big picture. It's not the club that's failing here, it's one cog in the machine slowing us down. It's a fairly important cog, I'll admit.
Still believe we will turn this around. Dembele will be a sore miss but we are definitely not a one man club. Dembele done his time, earned his move and good luck to him.

This issue will always divide fans, but the truth is the board will only listen to fans if and when fans actions have an effect on club finances/share value.

Hit the nail on the head mate.

The board feel they can do as they please without worrying about the fans as the fans will support the team no matter what, disgusting attitude.

On paper we should still have enough to win the game but with turgid, slow, passive football we're playing there's no certainty of it. Which in itself is a damning indictment of how poorly we've dealt with things.
