Square for the cheap * that shrinks to half its size after cooking (square sausage)

Slice for the high end square sausage (steak slice)

If I'm buying it in a cafe or van, I'll just ask for a roll n sausage, always get square automatically.....so although I've said square sausage here, I'd say just sausage at home or at the shop....links are links.

Ye canny ask for a square sausage in the butchers if you want the good stuff though. You need to say steak slice.

I buy it mostly in Morrisons at the butcher counter and it's just square I ask for there, the only have the one type. Other than that, it's packs of Steak sausage I'm sure it says.. next time I'm at the supermarket I'll check.

Pretty sure bap is a Scottish word. I only see the word regarding burgers. But there are loads of words in the UK for roll.
I use that word to make sure no * serves me a sausage roll, although it's best in a muffin. Sausage sarnie too (but that's not with a roll).

I have always said square, I mean slice is grado talk isn't it. In England you hear Scottish sausage too, but people who say that deserve to have the butcher gob on their sausage.

I‘ve found it just once in England, in Shropshire. Haven’t even tried in London tbf. Easier to source Argentine yerba maté. :56:
