Goal aside he was abysmal, has been since restart tbh, little wonder when all he has to do is show up and he will play.

i know it has been do e to death but really dont understand why we do t go for roberts, can play rw, behind the striker, hes been up before, all makes sense!

He's popped up with a couple of goals and that's fair enough, but his all round play in most games this season just hasn't been there, Frimpong offers more just now and deserves to start on the right.

It isn't just the refusal to run at his man and take him on..

It's the jumping and practically running away from any sort of challenge..

Spare me the he's a wee winger type. He was fine when it was Bayern at home and getting stuck in..

No one's asking for 2 footed challenges but at least making an attempt at a bouncing ball in the air on the halfway line. Done it a few time's tonight..

Great header tonight, but other than that he was very poor again.

He looks petrified to commit defenders and get to the byline, much like Taylor. Taylor’s incapable, but frustratingly we know that Forrest should be able to do it for fun. Simply put, we cannot play 3-5-2 with those two out wide, as it only encourages teams to flood the middle of the park, which makes Edouard, Christie, McGregor and everyone else’s jobs far more difficult as there’s no space to operate.

I thought he set Edouard up for a header in the 1st half? Maybe I dreamt that up?

Just the usual idiotic stick from the same members. Hope you enjoyed his winning goal!

It’s not the usual idiotic stick. Frimpong has been far more effective and deserves to be starting over him. That’s just a fact.

His goal and Christie’s 2 assists doesn’t excuse the fact that they’ve been in honking form and need to step up.

    Brain damage, it really is.

People that think a single goal or assist makes a * performance good know * all about football.

He’s tried to justify his performance by saying he set up Eddy.

We’ve allowed some players to slip to such a mediocre standard and it’s starting to show in team performances.

I’m a bit ambivalent about Jamesy’s performances so far this season, but overall I think there are more positives than negatives. On the one hand, I suppose, yes, since the start of the season, he could’ve been a bit more brave on the ball and used the ball more effectively. However, his non-stop energy, pace and explosive runs still cause a lot of teams problems — not to mention he can assist with good crosses and clearly has an eye for goal and scores important ones. If he was less dependent on his right foot, he would be Real Madrid quality or something, or, at the very least, Sevilla or Valencia; he’s got quality, for sure. We are better with Forrest in the team than without, in my opinion, and I’ve always been surprised by the amount of unfair criticism levelled at him. Like I said, he is frustrating at times owed to a lot of his runs not asking enough questions of defenders, but we’d know all about it if he wasn’t playing; he’s a very important player for us (all our players are important, obviously, but he’s really important, imo).

Seems to have been on the decline since the snake left, it has to be said. I can't remember the last time when he properly beat a man or two.

Shame because he really turned into a top player from 2016-2019. I remember his performances vs Bayern and thinking wow. Now he looks half the player. Great header though

No, it's not a fact. Frimpong's final ball isn't near as good.

As for the match, those were not the only chances in the match. Edouard could have had a hattrick. Header (Forrest cross), Left Foot chance (1st half) and of course the pen! Christie and McGregor also had good opportunities.

What do you expect from a wing back? Honestly looking forward to reading this reply!

To take on his man from time to time. Frimpong looked more impressive in 10 minutes than Forrest did the previous 80.

You simply can’t get away with one or two good moments in a match, if you’re utterly anonymous for the rest of it. It’s not how football works.

Wing backs in a 352 are absolutely crucial. They provide the width and have to get up and down the pitch, get crosses into the box and link up with the midfield and strikers. Forrest isn’t doing that enough.

Forrest scored the winning goal and you think Frimpong done more than him?

    I literally never said that.

I said Frimpong looked more impressive. Which he did. He was taking players on and drawing fouls from it. Much more energetic and sharp.
