I can’t see us getting him back, time to really start looking elsewhere.

Think Neil Lennon needs to speak to foster and say we will give you before the first league game starts and not got a answer then move on we can't * about too important a season ahead .

Then he can easily turn and say hes not important enough if you wont wait. Imagine if you waited a few weeks you could get messi, but being impatient you end up with Andy Carroll.

Those worth it are worth waiting.

But aye if we can sign a young qaulity keeper instead I'm all for it.

Our qualifying campaign begins in 4 weeks, although we should breeze past but with 1 leg then 1 blip and we are out. We can't wait until near the end of the window on the hope we may get him.

Atleast we should be sharper for it this year. Actually into the season instead of straight off the back of a friendly or 2. Hope that bodes well for us.

we shouldn’t even be looking for a forward, it’s a goalie we need.

    Breeze past?

Have teams already been listed for the relevant draws?

I'm doubtful Celtic are going to breeze past all and sundry going by our recent trys.

It's going to be hard if not harder than before.

Looking back on how he celebrated after we won the league cup, it’s really surprising he doesn’t want more of that.

Not overly unless there is some sort of list of very very weak teams.

Cluj had the better of us over 4 games and Copenhagen beat us at home easily in the end, hardly world beaters.

I'll have a better outlook when I see probable adversaries, but it'll be difficult, regardless.

I still hope this happens and I'll be gutted if it doesn't now and it really doesn't sound great. When he returned last season he spoke of 'coming home' if I recall correctly, and you could see how much it meant to him to be playing again, to be loved by fans and to be part of a winning team.

Obviously we don't know everything that has gone on behind the scenes, but it'll be really disappointing if he uses his form with us to have another crack at the Premier League. Maybe he still feels there's a chance for him to be No. 1 choice for his country and there is a major tournament coming up next season. Who knows?

The disappointing thing is, we've gone from having Forster last season, to having Bain now. No disrespect to Bain, who is a good keeper, but he doesn't have the same presence. The Cup Final performance last season cemented him as a massive player for us, and a massive barrier for opponents - particularly them. And now we're being linked with Marshall, Hart, Hladcky etc. I'm sure they'd all be decent, but even the most green-tinted among us would admit it's a big drop off in quality.

I think it’s fairly clear by now what the main reason for that is..

It’s sad but money talks more than ever....

You/we can’t really put ourselves in that position as we are fans and of course would say that 30k a week, medals and having your photo in the museum/trophy room wall forever is worth more than £90k a week..

They’re all ‘professionals’ now in the purest financial sense with agents chirping in their ears constantly... and money comes first...
Im sure if he came back he’d do a professional job but our lineup needs sorted now.. not in September or October if that remains an option.

Transfer windows might be open longer but I’d imagine the european squad deadlines aren’t.

Id love to have him back and I’m sure he’d do his professional job but I’d like to get to ‘10’ knowing that every player was fully on board with it and there to be part of it... not just because it was the biggest wage packet on offer for season 20/21.

Sad reflection of what has happened to football.
