Not so much learned as more a realisation. My wife unloading the washing machine today and someone had left a disposable face mask in a pocket. Then I realised this must be a new first world phenomenon in households.

I was watching a man speaking with a Glaswegian accent on the Irish in the UK TV programme earlier, he runs a homeless centre in Stoke, i never recognised him until it showed an image of his website, the Lou Macari centre, he had great words for his time as a player at Celtic Park, i hadn't a notion he was involved with the homeless until now.

Watching the last leg now , black lady said she doesn't care about football , but when she does she supports the team with the most black players in it.

Now , a few things , I'm all for the stand up to racism etc but what would be said if a white woman said she supported the team with the most white players ?

Wasn't sure where to post it but a reply might help me learn if I'm paranoid on this comment.

As soon as I think of Jim White the first thing that springs to mind is that picture of his gutted face when we won the league in 1998.

And I'll bet everyone on the panel laughed / smiled. Casual racism against white people is deemed acceptable on media unfortunately. Even the term "reverse racism" to refer to it shows that people don't treat it as proper racism.

I highly recommend the film "Marvellous." It's about Neil Baldwin, a guy who has lived a remarkable life. He was the kitman/club joker at Stoke under Macari, Macari offered him the job after he turned up at the stadium in the * rain to welcome his appointment. Brilliant, funny, uplifting film.

Regardless of race or religion there is always people like this in society. She will have plenty of white counterparts. The problem is the people giving them a platform.

True but the difference is: imagine someone saying on a panel show that they would be supporting the team with the most white people on it. There would be shocked silence, they would be ridiculed, shunned and never invited back on. And rightly so.
