This. The sooner football uses its intelligence and bans divers retrospectively the better football will be for all.

As for the other night, there was a little contact but it did not make him go down or obstruct his opportunity so he dived. If that was given against us I would be absolutely fuming so I am not surprised to see St Johnston feeling rightly aggrieved.

Yep. I thought the st Johnstone game was a nice change. :smiley-laughing002:

  4. @BBCchrismclaug: Scottish FA charge #Celtic's Derk Boeriggter for diving during his side's win over St Johnstone.

Fair enough if they actually try and tackle Diving but does anyone really think they'll ban everyone who dives? I highly doubt it.

  6. Can the mods not ban this guys mug, like pukki..
    One of those faces you......

I expect to see action taken all season now, nothing about mackay? Shock..

  7. Made the very same point in Boerrigter thread.

How they only charged one of the two offenders leaves questions to be asked. Either they didnt review the MacKay incident?? Or they did and don't believe it was a dive??

If it's the latter.Whoever made the decision, their judgement deserves to be questioned.

I feel your pain mate, hence why I think we should start boxing clever from now on instead of being the victim.its all in the game yo all in the game.:50:

  9. It's a disgrace..

Infact not only is it worse that derk was through one on one with the keeper and mackays was going away from goal, clearly mackays nudge from behind was deliberate and virgils trailing touch was totally accidental..

Watch mackays arms and how long it takes for him to throw himself to the floor after the initial contact..
If one is a dive then the other is without a shadow of doubt..

How anybody can feel upset or cheated by how the Porto players behaved in Seville and then turn around and say they want to see Celtic players behave in the same way is beyond me. Hypocrisy at it's finest.

I don't ever want to see Celtic players dive. Even if it costs us points I don't want to see it. If we can't beat a team honestly then that's our own fault for not being good enough.

PS. It's also ridiculous that a few people are trying to say Boerrigter didn't dive the other night. He blatantly did.

  11. That game was exactly why i mentioned diving to gain advantage in europe, top teams will always do it to us, for far too often we have been naive too honest on the continent..

I was over turin and to come from 2 down against a side like that in the stadio delle alpi was cheating to the worst level and where did it eventually get them and us? Them through and us out..
To make matters worse it was a * trip and we had 3 tiers in the away section pelted with coins and * all game, my young brother taking a big one and put in an ambulance till we were let out..

Fact is we may have some who don't like it but if we were a bit more street wise we may and probably would have done even better in europe than we have.. And could be sitting uefa cup winners as well as european cup winners..
Fine lines that more often than not, home and away, we have been on the painful end of..

To charge Derk with diving and not charge McKay is definitely another example of Scottish Authorities letting everyone at Celtic know that they might get fair play from UEFA but it is cheating as usual as far as Scottish Football is concerned . Deila has found out early in his Celtic career that winning by 3-0 isn't satisfactory . At Celtic the players are blatantly abused and the compliance department will treat the Celtic players different . When Neil Lennon came to Celtic the Huns thugs tried to kill him , the media did everything in their power to destroy his reputation and the Scottish Football Compliance office did their best to put him out of the game . Of course there were the anti -Celts who said Lennon brought it all on himself.

What the * are you on about? Derk dived. Mackay didn't. It's not heresy to tell the truth you know!

What is wrong with what he said?

Are you a Celtic supporter? Genuine question because since you've been on here you have done nothing but defend Scottish football against the paranoid Celtic supporters.

I think you need to go and watch the incident again mate. He didn't dive. There was contact and he tried to stay on his feet, realised it wasn't happening and went down. Did he go down theatrically? Yes, but it was still a foul. An arm into the small of the back is the sneakiest move in football just now. Defenders get away with * murder, just ask Juve.

When there is contact it isn't a dive and trying to equate that with the antics of Porto is poor imo.

It is a contact sport, there is ALWAYS contact, the question is, is it enough to make a grown man fall to the ground.

And YES I am a Celtic supporter. What my Thistle supporting pal refers to as "the only lucid one on the planet". I just don't go for all of the whoa is us stuff, paranoia if you will. I can see a play or game and respond the same to incidents whether the team playing is wearing red, blue, yellow or green and white hoops.

    Right ye are chief.

Should you not be giving us a history of diving and the ramifications against every other team (bar Celtic) in Scotland right about now, from 19 canteen onwards?

So much for intelligent discussion. I forgot I have to keep it "internet" style.
