Long term admiring him coaching the England youth?

Are we meant to imagine the clubs been watching England u20 games and sending Tisdale down to watch them?
Because long term admiring him at his last ACTUAL manager gig is a decade ago. Which then begs, did they think he was good back then and just decided to shove his CV in the draw as well?

Or...is it just a name because he had his wee stint as interim England manager and are we basing out ambition as a European club on that?

Carsley is actually quite highly rated as a coach.

    Don't want him mind you.

My guess is Nicholson finally got around to opening a drawer in the CEO's office and found some dusty old unopened envelopes containing CVs in there, his just happened to be the top of the pile. And as they can only work on one candidate at a time they stopped looking after that until he agrees or knocks us back...

Wilfried Nancy is among the foreign-based coaches under consideration for the Celtic job in a wide-open race to succeed Brendan Rodgers at Parkhead.

The Scottish champions are assessing a number of long-term options, with Martin O’Neill appointed as interim which has given them time to find the right candidate.

Club Brugge’s Nicky Hayen has spoken publicly about the job − saying “never say never in football” − but he is also happy at the Belgian club, while Nancy has emerged as a coach admired at Celtic.

It is understood that Nancy, 48, is on the initial shortlist of possible candidates this week after his work at Columbus Crew in the United States. The French-born coach won the MLS Cup in 2023 having previously taken CF Montréal to the Concacaf Champions League in his first managerial job.

Nancy, who also won the 2021 Canadian Championship, had been an assistant at Montreal to Thierry Henry before he was promoted when the Arsenal great departed.

As reported by this week, former Celtic striker Robbie Keane is on the shortlist to succeed Rodgers.

Record Ireland goalscorer Keane is at Ferencvaros and won the Hungarian title last season, although the level of compensation for clubs to land the Dubliner is unknown.

O’Neill, assisted by his former midfielder Shaun Maloney, has made it clear he only expects to lead the club on a short-term basis and also suggested the club are looking for a younger coach.

Sources at Ipswich Town do not expect Kieran McKenna to leave Portman Road for Celtic, with the Northern Irishman looking to get the club promoted back to the Premier League.

Ange Postecoglou has also been linked with becoming the next manager to return to the club, with Rodgers, Neil Lennon and now O’Neill coming back for second spells at Parkhead.

Aye. Its looking like hes doing an "appearing to clean house and show his dedication" which as we know he does when we turn * due to the boards negligence and dated structure. Club will get a wee bounce for a year or 2 then its back to the norm.

I dont hold much hope. Looks like a few changes are coming. But the biggest changes needed is in recruitment dealings and player development...and obviously fan engagement and transparency.

That ex Leicester lady was at the Falkirk game ans DD shows up only when * hits the fan...but as history tells us...its a hollow attempt for him to save face

I lost myself a bit here but hope some if it makes sense

Why would we be going after Wilfired Nancy? What has he done to warrant it?

Same with Bellamy although he’s knocked us back already which is embarassing

Kieran McKenna - what has he WON?

This is a throughly unserious candidate pool so far. Marco Rose/Nicky Hayen is where we need to be looking at.

Shows you though the drop off in quality versus Rodgers unless we can get Rose here somehow.

    All part of the hoax.

We’d do well to tempt Presssley in

Lee Carsley apparently prefers controlled possession. Get that to * away from us.

Serious drop offs. You want a Nancy/Bellamy/McKenna who have nothing and won nothing. Disaster written all over it.

Pressley is a better option to be fair,

Tbh Rodgers had us playing that blatantly bad near the end, any of them would have improved. Would they have inproved his initial year the first time? Probably not, but that was old rodgers. His footballs past it. Time to go for the new football thats getting results against the possession rubbish. 3 pass and a goal. Maximum. (Slight Exaggeration)

So many bitters out there as well.

Rodgers top 3 most successful Celtic coaches ever. You’ll have to suck that one up.

Bodo are currently in the process of building a brand new state of the art £90M stadium, Knutsen will probably want to be a part of that opening
    Did Scotland win?

6 years on as Scotland manager and still getting wins, you need to have something about you as a manager to still be getting results after 6 years in the job, takes a special skill set, especially with largely the same group of players over those years given the fact Clarke can't sign anyone for Scotland, there's no luxury of transfer windows, Brendan for example doesn't have that trait about him, can get a tune for a couple seasons at most before players give up, get bored and just go through the motions under him, that's despite having transfer windows to freshen the side up

Why should the use of his name be a banning offence? He's not Judas, he's not some bitter hun, he's a guy that got Scotland a win over Spain ffs, if he can achieve such a scalp with Scotland then he without doubt should be able to get us some pretty big scalps in Europe, if you can finish 3rd with Kilmarnock in Scotland then you can finish 1st with us in Scotland no problem too.

I would rather just stick Hoopy in the dugout if we're seriously suggesting Steve Clarke.
