This sort of stuff is music to the boards ears. Rodgers has resigned. He was undermined and he probably should have resigned at the end of the transfer window but I suppose he tried to fight on because of a comment like yours there that would be thrown at him. If he stayed on and forced the board to sack him further down the line you’d complain that he hung around for the pay off. He’s gone now. You can stop scapegoating him.

The board are still there. Lawwell and his cronies are still there and their attitude and bullshit is still there. Hopefully they’ll get out now, but what a mess they made trying to force Rodgers out. They’re happy now but by * they better get out now asap and take their nonsense with them.

Desmond is a multi billionaire and can pen all the nonsense he likes. He needs to allow a proper board of management to take over the club and then * off back to the golf club and let them run it.

Maeda, Johnston, Hatate and O'Riley all improved under him. So that's wrong.

Your word is meant to be your bond. That's Rodgers broke his word twice now, and he's left us in the lurch, in some state and mess. Rodgers told some whoppers in his time, none bigger than his most recent whopper, " I've never been so motivated before ".:giggle1:

It's good he's gone. Now we have a clean slate again, chance for a new manager to come in and put his stamp on the squad, bring his own team with him, and be able to plan the January Transfer Window targets.

Meantime we have to concentrate on the remaining objectives, the Europa, League, Scottish and League Cup.
We still have everything to play for, and new energy about the place.

Then either use that passion as a source of motivation, or walk. He's been sulking and putting out daft & lazy team selections since, like he can't even be arsed trying to improve things on the park and dare I say out of spite letting it all burn to the ground. He's paid enough money to do his best, as are the board for that matter, but he's let himself and the fans down in how he's responded to their failings.

I have a feeling that Rodgers will go down the litigation route for defamation of character.

Put his own stamp on the team by getting board signings in the door?

I was surprised when he did return because by all accounts the relationship between him and Lawwell was toxic when he left the first time. I was thinking that if he was coming back then the hatchet must’ve been buried. It wasn’t though and the corrosive influence that still held the grudge is still sitting there in the boardroom. When Desmond puts the whiskey away and gets over his tantrum the real rats causing the problems at Celtic are still sitting there on the board.

Hopefully we'll hear Rodgers side of things. Can't see him paying him off.. would have just sacked him if that was the case.

We have to move on and move on quick. Get the new manager in... not shaun or martin. And let's get behind the team... they need us more than ever now.

I think his team suited orileys game more than ange alright.. Maeda, hatate and johnston had moments under him. Two of whom are probably currently in their worst form since joining the club. C'mon you can't say bar tail end of season 1 and up to Xmas season 2 we were any great shakes. Munich aside we were awful for the whole of 2023 and 2025 of Rodgers tenure.

Yeah and why not? the onus is now on DD to actually prove beyond doubt the things that he has accused BR of. He has to be very careful now in how he responds to this.

I respect people might be annoyed he's walked again but I actually praise him for doing it.

The club isn't being run properly and it will take this type of thing happening to fix it. Several members of staff have resigned this morning. Is Kennedy a rat too? I don't think that's fair.

I'm glad Rodgers has walked and I'm glad Desmond has publicly had a meltdown. I think Desmond forgets the evidence of mismanagement is there for the footballing world to see. It will be an open secret in the footballing world that Celtic are ridiculously * to deal with. It's also plain for anyone to see that the board * the transfer window.

We've got £100m in the bank, sold out best players, had to get a free agent in to play upfront and sit 8 points behind Hearts in the league as we fill our team with kids and C-list players - but Desmond thinks the support and the footballing world will blame Rodgers for this? The guy is delusional.

Dermot - you need to wake up. This summer was an easy one and your elite executive team * it to the point it looks deliberate - which is why everyone from supporters to players to former manager are * disgusted with this club.

Could it be you or your team that's the problem? No, everyone else is wrong - right?

I don't think he walked at all. I think he's been flirting with walking for 2 months but I'd guess him resigning was somewhat agreed between all parties. I just don't get why a board chased a fella that by all appearances they had no time for. Probably makes me lean more towards a fresh start with a mckenna than ange

On the 18th of February of this year he took this club to within a few minutes of taking Bayern Munich to extra time in a CL playoff match. He wanted to build on that. He wanted quality players brought in so that players like Maeda and Yang could leave if they wanted. He wanted to build a team and was willing to work with the club to do it sustainably. What do you want for Celtic exactly?

The mess we’re in is to do with Lawwell and co. having a * contest with the manager. He had to go in those circumstances but those rats engaging in the * contest who dismantled a team that made good progress in the CL only last season in the process are still sitting there. If they go and their attitude goes with them, then Celtic can start to look forward. You’re deluded. There is no “clean slate” until that happens.

Yeah the timing of that statement is questionable given he’d have known the game was up but let’s be serious Rodgers is hardly known for his straight laced honesty either. I’ve got no doubt he’d make a statement if he thought it was the correct thing to say regardless of whether it was the truth or not.

I guess we’ll never know, the truth will be somewhere near the middle of Desmond’s statement and Rodgers inevitable reply.

A fresh start means a new board of management. If we get that anything is possible including an appointment at football manager level like McKenna. A lot of work to be done at board level first, getting out the old Lawwell influenced lot and recruiting a board of management fit for purpose to run a club of Celtic’s stature and potential in the modern era.

Will be a good read if he tells it like it actually was.
