Did anyone else notice him inverting sometimes after he came on? Interesting! Am I wrong in thinking that's new? Or did he always do it and I never noticed before?

He does do it just not as heavily as Taylor because he has the tools to play as a more natural full back. Technically superb, got a nice turn of pace and excellent 1v1.

Has to start the majority of games from here on, especially the big games. It’s a no-brainer.

Thought he was good when he came on, sometimes he really does look like an upgrade on Taylor.

To me, there’s a difference between being a full-back/wing-back who sometimes underlaps as part of his toolkit (Vallé or AJ for instance), and an ‘inverted full-back’: that’s someone who, rather than just making occasional underlapping runs, or sometimes coming slightly narrow, generally wants to drift in centrally and do the bulk of his defending and attacking from there. That v much describes Taylor, but not Vallé imo.

That’s the difference between Vallé and Taylor, for me. AV much more versatile and effective than GT, who is content to leave acres of space.

This is a signature feature of how fullbacks at La Masia are trained. They have to be able to overlap and come insde - often why most fullbacks are also taught to switch flanks

He had the starting spot but his performance against Aberdeen showed he’s still young & inconsistent. That said he should be starting all European games and big domestic games now on.

Really intelligent going forward. Bit of improvement required positionally and just generally defensively but that will come. Not sure we'll have a chance of signing him but I would definitely want to if it were possible.

No surprise he is a quality player he did learn his trade in La Masia after all.

Deserves a run in the team for me. He was flying, then got dropped for Taylor, had one poor game in a hurricane at Pittodrie.

We have a run now where we are 4 games at home of our next 6, a game every 3 or 4 days so hopefully he sees plenty of game time. I think he is a really good attacking force for us and like when we dismantled Aberdeen 6-0 Valle was good.

The 20-year-old Barça player Álex Valle is making the most of his loan spell at Celtic Glasgow and the young left-back won the Scottish Cup last Sunday in a thrilling final against Rangers (3-3, 5-4 on penalties). Valle played in extra time and after winning his first title as a professional, he spoke to 'Cadena SER' to comment on the success and his good adaptation to Celtic

Both I and the team in general are in very good dynamics. I am very happy and I think the team is spectacular. It is a great prize to end the year," said Álex Valle , who has played 13 games with Celtic and has provided four assists

Alex Valle is on loan without an option to buy until the end of the season at Celtic and despite some rumours that he could return to Barça as early as January , he will not leave Scotland until the end of the season. The full-back was asked about his future return to the Catalan club and the player was open to being able to continue with the Catalans next year.

Barça has always been my home. This would be my eleventh season, so I have a special affection for it. In the end, these are circumstances in football and everyone does what they can. I am very grateful for everything that has happened to me and is happening to me in life. I continue with the present and enjoy it, whatever happens next will be what has to happen," said Valle , who also noted that "I consider that I have improved and I will improve in other aspects" in these months in Scottish football

It did but I thought it was harsh to then drop him out again.

Especially as Taylor has been up and down himself.

For those looking to read between the lines, his comments to Cadena Ser are consistent with what has been discussed up until now - born & bred local kid who is relishing his time at Celtic, next step yet to be determined

Makes sense. Enjoying his time with us and contributing well when he's on the pitch, that's all we ask.
