He barely kicked a ball for Scotland U21’s mate, mainly because he was permanently injured.

Thought he done really well there, created the goal when his shot was palmed off the post and unlucky to score then after another Marzy run, very positive and direct. Ireland haven’t really got a tricky player that can beat two or 3 people. Gives us something different. I’m hoping his injuries are behind him and he does well for Ireland and I’m hoping comes back here with a good attitude and impresses in preseason for next season. Any idea of what’s left on his contract? Would be a good option to have in the squad especially if Abada goes

For those who are in love.....
He was a standout in our academy and when he played for the 21's, was good as well...maybe the batch below possibly then..

Scored a cracker against England in one of the age groups also and terrorised them..

He should definitely have been someone looked at when you look at the dross that was given caps no long ago like Hanson and Considine..

There's no real wingers to call upon..

    Just can't get enough
Scored 1 goal in 16 games for Vitoria and is constantly injured anytime he has a stretch of games. How easily fooled are our fans when he has 1 good half of football and think he's next George Best. He is simply not good enough.

Mikey Johnston is good enough IMO. If his body lets him play football…

One of the most exciting cameos I've seen from an Irish player in ages. To be seen how he does against better opposition than Latvia but he's already probably guaranteed he'll at least be getting called up regularly for the foreseeable future. Yous must have some serious wingers in Scotland for him not to even make the squad :fear:

There's definitely a player in there, always has been. The issue he has is that we're stacked at LW at the moment.

He probably won't make it here but I hope he has a decent career somewhere if he doesn't. Just has that natural ability on the ball which I love.

The wee man in full flight is a joy to watch tbh. Really hope that's him over his injury problems and he can kick on now.

Didn't some sports scientist suggest Forrest should change the way he runs, and it worked in reducing the amount of injuries he picked up?
Perhaps something similar could help Mikey. We should give him a chance next season.

Duk doesn't count for the homegrown quota.

He might never make it here, but loaning him out was the right decision instead of selling him. When he first broke through, he did look a right good player with bags of potential. Give him pre-season and lets see if Ange can get a tune out of him. What’s the harm in it? This summer is his final chance to try and prove himself here though.

Get him back in the Summer and let Harry Kewell work with him.
If he continues to do well on the international scene, and does well For us in sub appearances especialy a few CL cameos, the in Jan flog him to an overseas version of "Holby City Sevco",
who sign players without looking at medical issues

Hopefully playing in Portugal has helped him to correct aspects of his play that he had in Scotland. Getting an objective appraisal from his club's coaching staff as to how he can improve his game may well have helped him see the light.

If Abada does go to another club in the next transfer window then Ange will most probably buy another winger to replace him. I cant remember if Johnston is a natural left or right winger. If he can play on the right, then he may compete with Forrest for playing time as a second choice right winger.

Ange will not go into the Champions League with a weakened team if Abada goes.
