I read somewhere that he played like 13 games for Canada last year which is a lot. Or I'm just making that number up..

* knows anyway but jetting off to play for Canada loads isn't ideal for us..

Im really not sure about buying from the mls but we will see

 

General consensus from Montreal fans and these Canadian journos/bloggers on Twitter seems to be that he's a genuinely good player. Of course there is the odd tweet saying he's rubbish, will flop, be loaned back out etc but even we get some mad whoppers saying stuff like that about our better players on Twitter (see Timor O'Seery).

Going to watch another Montreal game but I kinda liked what I seen from him against NYC even though Montreal got pumped 3-0. He was the team's main threat in the 1st half but had a quieter 2nd where it looked like he got shuffled in at CB for a spell.

 

Not sure how I feel on this one. Looks decent but wouldn’t say he’s an upgrade on Juranovic. Time will tell.

 

I think that Juranovic is extremely overrated. He is a good player, but people forget that it is last season that JJ was good. He have been on/below Ralstons level this season.

 

I'd never heard of jura before he came here tbh.

 

Money from player sales will be used to improve the squad as a whole rather than that 1 like for like position.

 

People need to get away from this comparison. JJ has barely played in the league this year. In fact, Ralston has played more league games this season. Ralston isn’t good enough to be first choice, that much is clear. JJ not been the same this year but he’s playing far less games domestically.

 

I don't disagree with that mate. But i still dont think he is THAT good. Canada is packed with up and coming talent, and Johnston played very well vs Belgium. Juranovic was crap but so was rest of the Croatia squad. I think this guy would make us stronger tbh.

 

If Jura wasn’t the only decent RB Croatia have we wouldn’t be getting anywhere near what I expect we will be getting for him. He’s overrated. Decent player but overrated. I’m happy we’re replacing him with and making profit in the process.

 

Still not convinced Juranovic will go in all honesty.

Other than a general rumour he'd like away that's about it. Even if true doesn't mean that will happen.

 

I agree, mate. He has a lot of very good qualities but also a lot of clear deficiencies to his game.He's done well for us but it's the right time for all parties to move him on, I think.

Looking forward to seeing what Johnston brings.

 

Thing is though if we can get something in the region of 15m+ for Juranovic and get this lad in for around 5.1m then that is our player trading model in full flow.

This Sunday at 4pm against Croatia will be interesting and will give us more interest to scout him.

 

yea who was like 18 at the time and now maybe the best left back in the world at 22. Johnson is two years older and still playing in the MLS, I’m sure he’s a good player but he’s not in the same statosphere as Davies

 

Looks a good player and can also play centre back. Don’t like judging players from international games though and there’s not many that do well coming from the MLS.

Hopefully turns out a good buy.

 

Agreed. For one, we have no idea which club has put in a bid for Juranović, if any.

 

If we bring in a 3rd rb I think there must be some expectation at the club that JJ will be away in the next window or summer, forward planning instead of waiting til he's gone to fill the gap.
